Wow... Yep.

Haha, wow. That's a sure way to endear you to your potential customers, alright.
BioWare: Hero to offline gamers?
The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit! If that's true, I'm done with both of 'em.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderFalse. They confirmed you will NOT require an online connection for the PS 4. And they said its up to the developers if they want to block used games, just like this generation.
"Always online" was created by people who have no concept of bandwidth costing money beyond a flat monthly rate. This is not likely to hold in the future.
I wrote about a fish turning into the moon.Oh wow. Out of touch much?
I mean what the flying crap, man?

ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.The "Why would I live there?" just sells the douchebaggery.
"Electricity goes out, too."
You know, I'd totally buy the Xbox 720 if it didn't need electricity. (Assuming it was a good console, I mean.)
I'm writing this on my laptop, by the way. My power cord is in my closet.
Fire, air, water, earth...legend has it that when these four elements are gathered, they will form the fifth element...boron."Why on earth would I live there?" . . . Guy never had touch with reality, did he? Yes, millions live in cities. No, that's not the majority of the human race. And I bet a large percentage of his former market lived out in the boondocks. It's not like he'll keep many of them now.
Idiot.
Battery powered consoles. You know it's the future. Battery powered flat screen T Vs. Coming out shortly before or after.

Wow, what an asshole.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. This is looking suspiciously like a complaint thread...never mind that it's a perfectly legitimate complaint Might be a good idea to come up with an actual discussion before the mods come a-knockin'.
Somehow you know that the time is right. The guy alienated a large portion of his company's fanbase. I'll be surprised if his job lasts a week without Gates himself coming down and saying, "Live six months in the middile of Farming Town, Nowhere USA, or you're fired." Maybe that'll teach him what Always Online DRM really means.
Idiot.
Good point, perhaps we should expand this to the concept of always online in general.

Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Okay, then, here's something: aside from MMO games which by their nature have to be always online, are there any kinds of game that might benefit from always being online?
Somehow you know that the time is right.Wow, this is certainly helping those rumors that the Nextbox requires a constant Internet Connection.
Regardless, this dude should be fired, because he just painted his whole company as uncaring, ungrateful, and disregarding to it's fans and gamers in general.
Microsoft: Qu'ils mangent de la brioche.
@Master Inferno: I can't think of any.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Well yes, there can be benefits. It can be done in a way in which other players can leave a mark upon your world; stuff like the writings of other players in Dark Souls and Demon Souls.
However, it is never something that should be necessary. It should always be an option.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderIf it's an option, that's not "always online". :V

“Sorry, I don’t get the drama around having an ‘always on’ console,” Orth said on Twitter. “Every device now is ‘always on’. That’s the world we live in. #dealwithit.”
In response, Bio Ware designer Manveer Heir said, “Did you learn nothing from Diablo III or Sim City? You know some people’s internet goes out right? Deal with it is a shitty reason.”
Orth retorted, “Electricity goes out, too.”
And Heir countered (2), “You lived in LA, SF, Seattle… very connected places. Try living in Janesville, WI or Blacksburg, VA… You should move to a NON-CITY for a period of time and tell me how your attitudes change. Gamers live in non urban areas too.”
Orth replied, “Why on earth would I live there?”
The twitter has been locked down now so...
