Since we've gotten told to stop talking generally about religion twice in the Homosexuality and Religion thread and were told that, if we want to talk generally about religion, we need to make a new thread, I have made a new thread.
Full disclosure: I am an agnostic atheist and anti-theist, but I'm very interested in theology and religion.
Mod Edit: All right, there are a couple of ground rules here:
- This is not a thread for mindless bashing of religion or of atheism/agnosticism etc. All view points are welcome here. Let's have a civil debate.
- Religion is a volatile subject. Please don't post here if you can't manage a civil discussion with viewpoints you disagree with. There will be no tolerance for people who can't keep the tone light hearted.
- There is no one true answer for this thread. Don't try to force out opposing voices.

Can confirm. Too lazy and too paranoid.
Some of the early accounts of Amatsu-Mikaboshi did call him the "evil" kami. A kami for the impurities that are the anathema in shintoism.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleI'll trade laziness for low self-esteem and a more specific brand of paranoia, namely that of personality traits expressed by the rest of my family...
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotI thought about being the kami of apathy but I really don't care enough one way or the other.
Trump delenda estCan I be the kami of all kamis that aren't kamis of themselves?
Kami's are. They define and are defined by what they represent. So that wouldn't work.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleSo you are the kami of semantic philosophy?
No, I just hang around and make observations.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleI meant Victin.
Hm, I don't think I would bother being the kami/spirit/god/whatever of anything. I'd just retire to some nice little pocket dimension with my demonic harem and leave the mortals alone.
Still a great "screw depression" song even after seven years.
This guy's got it figured out.
Si Vis Pacem, Para Perkele@De Marquis: I don't think I'm that good at semantics, nor I think I know my metaphysics and critic of metaphysics that well.
I was kinda making a joke.
I like this system. We can all be the kami of whatever we identify as our defining personality attribute.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"What if you do not want to be a kami? Are you then a kami of irresponsibility, or a kami of not-wanting-to-be-a-kami?
But what do I know? I am the kami of being so fucking tired and sleepy all the time. Like. All the fucking time, man.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesWell, you'd have to be diefied to become a kami. Otherwise you'll be stuck in Yomi, keeping the corpse lady company.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleYou could shoot for Youkai. They come from humans sometimes.
The Selangor Fatwa Committee has declared Hizbut Tahrir, a fundamentalist Islamist group, as haram.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotI saw the funniest joke about hating middle eastern immigrants looking for shelter, transposed with a certain image of certain middle eastern immigrants who were looking for shelter at one point.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesFrankly, the jokes about Americans of European descent hating immigrants write themselves. There are so many ways you can take that.
I'm partial to the flavor where it's a white guy bitching about immigrants ruining the country and a Native American pointedly agreeing with him.
- CHRISTOPHER TITUS: (Native American voice) It's very ironic. But, in the spirit of friendship, please accept these blankets. ...if you did not get that joke, then you are not a student of history and you went to a public school.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.The immigrant middle easterners looking for shelter I refered to were Joseph and Mary.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesThe problem with the European Colonists=Immigrants is that:
1. The United States wasn't founded yet-the Native American tribes were their own nations. Ergo, they weren't immigrating to the United States, because there wasn't one to immigrate to.
2. It was more of an "armed invasion" than an immigration.
Edit:
3. The Natives were mostly wiped out by disease.

"Any campaign world where an orc samurai can leap off a landcruiser to fight a herd of Bulbasaurs will always have my vote of confidence"I, at least, got the reference...
Well, they were also colonizing a post apocalyptic America where most of its population was wiped out by The Plague.
