yhea, but sumpo is NOT PWO, PWO still has only 3%, while sumpo has 58%.
and btw, PWO is not PWE either, PWE is the american subsidiary of PWO, PWE is not in the deal, PWO (a chinese company) is; long story short, PWE doesn't have anything to do with the deal.
piggy ganon, piggy ganon, does whatever a piggy cannot...Oy vey.
PWO is the consultant and distributor for Sumpo. That's why they're in the deal in the first place, and why I listed them together. PWO isn't going to make any moves independently of Sumpo.
Anything else you'd care to nitpick?

I don't know much about PWE or PWO, but the differences can't be that great between the both of them, unless I am catastrophically unaware of PWO's excellent reputation.
PWE is just the company's North American publisher. I looked it up. It's like Nintendo of America vs Nintendo of Japan. They're both Nintendo, and PWE is still Perfect World.
All the crap we're worried about still comes from Perfect World.
Pretty much what I had guessed.
I'm still not all that worried personally. At worse, if the ship goes under as it burns, we can jump off.
Presumably while doing a bunch of really cool flips.
I really don't want thuis to turn into some kind of fight, but the post of Calayne on the forums actually calms me down.
Here it is:
Edit's Edit:
For the sake of those who find it slightly harder to read, allow me to attempt to summarise:
-61% of DE's share has been sold. 58% to Sumpo, 3% to Perfect World.
-These have, apparently, no voting right within the company itself.
-The reasoning for the acquisition is apparently because of Sumpo specifically being a chicken-industry. Their sales has been suffering because of recent... health issues, so to speak, in the People's Republic of China (henceforth, PRC). Thus, it seems pretty convincing, seeing that it is Sumpo with 58% of the share, and PW with only 3%.
-The acquisition is so that Warframe can be distributed in China. There's an issue of western media and western-made products making its way into China, as it's very tightly controlled by the government. However, there's one party here with one foot already in the door: Perfect World Entertainment. So, Sumpo probably is an investor of what they see as a booming industry, hoping to earn money "On the side", to alleviate their dropping revenue. Seems a rather wise choice, honestly speaking, considering China is a huge market, with relatively few products compared to the Western countries.
tl;dr
The summary is this: Sumpo needs to make money, something not related to chicken. It wants to invest in games, and thinks Warframe rocks, so they want to acquire DE's share. This acquisition is so that Sumpo can distribute Warframe in China exclusively. However, they can't do it by themselves, as chicken is all they know. So, they get Perfect World.
Speculatively, nothing is going to change: Perfect World is what is probably a more complex version of a "Retailer". Basically, it just distributes a product or service, without being able to modify (at least, extensively and noticeably) what it sells. Probably they'll have their own promotions and stuff, though. But I don't know about that.
If there's any mistake, feel free to drop me a PM to correct my understanding. This is here for everyone's benefit.
Also, it seems like Digital Extremes has another F 2 P game in the works. WOOT WOOT!
I've read it to and showed it to my sister lawyer. She said he pretty much summariezed it but still, skeptisicm is a good thing.

yhea that too, forgot to mention that, which is indeed calming even though, not being a lawyer, i don't really know for sure exactly what "no voting rights" mean, though my guess it is "you get money for your investment but you ain't telling us what to do".
piggy ganon, piggy ganon, does whatever a piggy cannot...That post still misses the common shares. The "no voting" shares are special shares. See the paragraph I posted earlier.
There is something I absolutaly have to say and it's amazing I've managed to hold it back for so long.
Corr, your profile pic couldn't be more fitting for this occasion.
Well the question is "on what can they vote?"
I very much doubt that they get to hop in DE's office and just cast a magic "game-ruiner" spell just because of the voting shares.
Also, pre-devstream 39 thread is up. There you can post questions and also see that they want to preview U15. If a preview is up, U15 might just be coming within the next 2 weeks. Noooooot today. Definitely not. And next week is unlikely, but the week after is likely.

It's true. I should probably switch it or something.
Of course they're not going to do that. But giving Perfect World any kind of voting at all is probably a bad idea.
Really, if Warframe stays profitable without the classic Perfect World touch, we probably don't have anything to fear since none of us live in China. But if Warframe starts taking a hit in the profits department, Sumpo/PW will probably start exerting their influence.
I'm just annoyed that people see "no voting," turn off their brains, and are like "I knew Steve-senpai would never desert us!" {cue rainbows and unicorns}.

You got a point there. However I think we'll just have to see how it plays out. I certainly can't predict the future though.
Maybe it'll all be good or someone's going to f*ck things up.
I predict that one of those will come true.

Also, I've had another recruit today for LSN, and we're still struggling for room. It feels like we should hurry a bit with the other dojo. That, or just tell recruits to deal with it, and they are being put in the less advanced clan.

but HOW?Forma alert on Ceres.
Todays devstream will include proxy war discussion. As usual I most likely won't be able to see it, so if anyone is bothered to watch...
I (and some other guy) left question about hypothetical Valkyr Prime. I know it's unlikely to be mentioned and not even that important, but if you they do talk, please tell!
I'm kinda surprised they're talking about Proxy War. I mean, I get that they want to include all three "end game" projects, but I was under the impression that they had their hands full with Archwings and the other stuff.
I'm curious to see what else will get on the stream, but I won't be able to watch it in whole unfortunately. I'll let you know if I catch your question or something, and maybe make a summary (tho Reddit will probably beat me to it).
Didn't you know how DE rolls? Best cram your update as full as possible and sort that shit afterward.
I don't really care that much about Valkyr Prime. In fact I don't give a flying fuck about her. Hell, I like Volt a lot and if DE said "no Volt Prime ever" I wouldn't shed a tear. And I like Valkyr lot less than Volt.
But there are discussions going on forums. There are rumors. There are liberal interpretations of flovery text. And I feel official clarification would put their minds to rest and make them...

Actually it was my own fault. Shouldn't have buggered in those threads. I made faint attempt to do something about the rampaging stupidity and, I swear to god, this was my first and last attempt.

Short update about the devstream:
- Not stream news, but the Archwing tease site is up.
- Ability mods will be removed from the game. Abilities will be acquired by leveling your frame and they will level via use.
- Proxy wars are coming with 6 factions. Syndicates (the groups) will require sacrifices and will give you sigils that you will wear in their honor. They will have favorite weapons and related mods to these. There will also be abilities mutators for frames. See screenie for description.◊
- New frame will be sorceror/wizard of the Phase/Void. Little info on it except for a short description of one ability.
Well, gee, I wonder which faction I'll support? The terrorists, the dogmatics, the merchants, the racists, the eldritch abomination, or the protectors?
Yaaay, abomination for the win.
I mean, the factions all sound cool, but they're really pushing the gray'n'black morality.
