It's been fun.

I'm not really that fond of yuri, but I don't particularly mind it either. It's just that it's so frequently inserted for the sake of having it, which is just a half-arsed way of doing something. It rarely works for anything. Yuri's just a frequent offender at it. Yuri fans can be annoying as well, especially if they insist it's canon when it's not.

I love yuri, but I haven't seen any in this show so far and it's still a great show. I don't feel like it's missing anything by not having romance.

Anyway, I'm late, but I'm really happy for Akko! Transforming into a merman (which is much more useful than a regular fish), learning to understand fish, and getting an A in magic philosophy! Not to mention doing her best to study properly.

Professor Pisces is amazing. Almost as great as Professor Ursula.

Found out what the situation about the yuri is This happens in the episode (It's barely a spoiler as it came out RAW)◊ In terms of context it's meant to be a comedy scene where Sully wakes up and reacts to it in a Tsundere fashion refusing it. A bit stronger than I thought but it's not actual yuri so they didn't go off their promises. Just seems a mockery of the idea of it in a kids show.

I don't really see why it would be any less appropriate for 'a children's show' than any other implication of or joke about romance. Incidentally, this show airs at midnight or 1AM depending on the channel, so it's probably not intended entirely for children.

Apparently the reason why subs haven't been posting early is because not only is no company in North America doing it, but Horriblesubs isn't even making fan subs of it either!

None of the companies are subbing it because Netflix has the license, and their plan is to put the entire season up once it finishes airing. Horriblesubs isn't doing it because they're just Crunchyroll rips.

8. I think Sucy is just legitimately evil. Like straight up crazy, and one day someone is going to have to save the world from mad witch Sucy. This episode was just Trigger being pure Trigger. Like, slow down a little please. The effectiveness of crazy is dulled when it's constantly being thrown in your face with no respite.

She's like a witch variation of a mad scientist...weird.

If you take Sucy's first-episode antics with the trapping innocent children in a cage and using them as a sacrifice for a cockatrice even a little bit seriously, she is clearly a monster who needs to go down.

Nobody seems to be doing Dragonese subs either, though.

Yeah, this episode was as messed up as one would expect from the journey into the depths of Sucy psyche.

Notice how the last shot was just of a pillow staying still for about 20 seconds. :D That's a typical Imaishi troll move.

Especially since the mushroom pops up after he cuts to black.

Speaking of the ending, was the episode up until the last scene a dream? If not, I have SO many questions that I am not going to ask.

Oh, and it references Your Name with "Instant Copycat Sucy". I'm not sure if the name is referencing events in the movie (haven't seen it) or if the crew is acknowledging that they are referencing a popular anime film that only came out last year.

With this episode, I think we all understand exactly what goes on in Sucy's mind.

So many references. Most obvious was probably the Sleeping Beauty one. Disney version, especially with how simlar the dragon is.
