Oh my god this is the most terrible movie I've ever seen in my life. Well, not the worst, but there's a whole batch of them that irritate me for the same reason. Blade Runner, Mad Max, Escape From New York, The Warriors, Fist Of The North Star or Judge Dredd even... what's up with those aesthetics? The graffiti, the ever-present rubbish, the broken and ruined stuff, the fashion sense which managed to be impossibly tacky and impossibly drab at the same time, and the ever-present character in these stories, The Rabble. It's always a thoughtless, animalistic, savage, violent crowd of outrageously-dressed mooks. It's like these movies are trying to do some sort of anti-populist propaganda or something! What's up with that?

And of course the utterly flat characters. What happened? All the century, great actors have portrayed great characters in cinema, so why is it that, all of a sudden, we get all these flat, static characters that seem to exist purely as devices for a plot to happen?

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Is this a complain thread?

I'm getting the impression that you don't like future-dystopian movies.
