Just a Face and a Caption: Implausible Hair Color

I like B Londe Asian 5 and Black Blonde.

I like the blond black kid the best.

I do as well. Some of them don't work because it's hard to tell what ethnicity they're supposed to be, but I think it's clear that boy hasn't dyed his hair and the contrast is stark.

I'd go with the black kid with blonde hair Wil posted, too. It's the most obvious contrast so far.

It's clear enough to work even downsized to avatar size, but I don't really see a problem with the current size.

No issues with it at current size.

Um, I'm not too sure about having a real life pic on a trope that talks about "writer intent." Perhaps we could put the RL pic on Dark Skinned Blonde instead, and move the picture there to here?

I think having a real life pic is a plus, actually. This trope is about possible hair colors, but just implausible. It's really hard to convey that in animation and film from just one picture with no context.

The current pic on Dark Skinned Blonde is fine for that page. If we move it here, we have no way of knowing, just based on the pic, if that's a typical hair color or not since the pic doesn't make clear what her ethnicity is by itself. By having a RL pic where we have a hair color that's very definitely not what you would expect from that ethnicity, it sets a precedent for the trope.

Maybe crop a little bit of the negative space on the right side, but it's fine other then that.

I don't think cropping is necessary.

I still prefer the redhead in the kimono that I suggested in 16 but it seems that most people would rather the blond black boy.

Well, I don't mind her either, though she's not actually human. Then again, she's supposed to look like a Japanese beauty.
