Speaking of...

  • Evolving Spores - Rare Druid Spell; 4 mana; Adapt your minions.

Huh... good spell, I think, but also kinda Win More and competing with some good stuff in the 4 slot right now.

As has been noted, it's basically a much less reliable Savage Roar.

Eh, I feel like the other options have a lot of situational usefulness. Need taunt to survive another turn? Have two! Worried about Flamestrike next turn? Not anymore!

But by the very nature of Adapt you can't rely on it even in those situations. Would you really want to not only include this card in your deck but also waste 4 mana on something that might help you?

Well no, granted, but those things can be useful if they do show up in the right situations.

Like, even if you don't get the exact right one you need, you can still get one that's useful for one thing or another. My point is only that it's useful for more than just Savage Roar Sometimes.

But that falls in to what I said before about 'Win More'. You might get an Adapt that helps you come back, but it's still going to be at it's most useful when you're already winning.

I think the term "win-more" is being misused here: this card is only useful if you have a board, but having a board doesn't always equate to "winning". What this card can do, though, is potentially swing an even or slightly unfavourable board in your favour. If you're looking for a similar precedent, Enhance-o-Mechano was a legitimate tech choice in Zoolock back in GVG.

As for this card in Druid... well, any Druid that wants to hold the board (Menagerie / Egg / Token / Jade) may consider running this, but we obviously can't gauge its actual playability at this point.

Yeah, it's very similar to Enhance-O, with two main differences: the effect is a Discover applied to each minion rather than completely random, and the card doesn't give you a minion itself. Going to lead to some very long turns if you have to individually Evolve seven minions.

Spirit Echo: 3-mana Shaman Epic Spell. Give your minions "Deathrattle: Return this to your hand."

Yeaaaah. It's Control Shaman season.

Lordy. So now Shamans get Echo of Medivh... sort of. I know what card my Priest deck will be running two of in Un'goro. Mass Dispel!

[up] No shit, that is a card that really should be a Classic Priest card.

Here is hoping the priest legendary is Lightbomb + Minion attached.

In wow when you hire a airdropped goblin priest to cure a malfunctioning bulldozer

  • Airborne Goblin Priest says: Praise to the Light, brother <Charname>! Let's take a look here...
  • Airborne Goblin Priest says: Well, there's your problem! You have what we call a ghost in the machine.
  • Airborne Goblin Priest says: This calls for an old-fashioned bulldozer exorcism! Give me a hand if she gets uppity, will ya?
<Clubnik's Dozer becomes enraged!>
  • Airborne Goblin Priest says: Whoa! We got a live one here!
  • Airborne Goblin Priest says: I cast you out! Unclean spirit - Begone!
  • Airborne Goblin Priest says: The power of the tools compel you! The power of the tools compel you!
<After beating the machine "senseless">
  • Airborne Goblin Priest says: Terrific! That went down nice and clean.
  • Airborne Goblin Priest says: Let Clubnik know that the priesthood will be sending him a bill. For the Light!

Make that priest a card.

  • Tortollan Primalist - Epic Neutral Minion; 8 mana 5/4; Battlecry: Discover a Spell and cast it with random targets.

Who's ready for some Randuin? '3'

  • Cornered Sentry - Rare Warrior Minion; 2 mana 2/6; Taunt; Battlecry: Summon three 1/1 Raptors for your opponent.
  • Spikeridged Steed - Rare Paladin Spell; 6 mana; Give a minion +2/+6 and Taunt. When it dies, summon a Stegodon.
    • No word on the token.

More cards here. Don't have time to transcribe them, but there's a 8-mana 5/4 Neutral minion that has you Discover a spell and cast it with random targets, a Paladin 6-mana buff spell that gives a minion +2/+6 and spawns a Stegodon as a Deathrattle, and a 2-mana 2/6 Warrior minion with Taunt that spawns 3 1/1 tokens for your opponent.

[up][up] Stegodon is a 2/6 beast with Taunt, as revealed on Facebook. No idea why they didn't include it in the blog.

Considering that adaptations are a Discover mechanic, there's a very low probability that you'd wind up with a redundant one.
The probabilities are a bit hard to calculate out completely. Instead I ran some simulations to get an estimate.

If you pick completely random adaptations every time, it seems you have a little under 0.45 probability of getting redundant adaptations.

If you deliberately avoid picking the same redundant adaptation but otherwise pick randomly, the probability goes down to about 0.0064, or 1/156.

If you deliberately avoid picking the same redundant adaption and deliberately pick non-potentially-redundant adaptations whenever you can, the probability goes down to about 0.00019, or 1/5200. (This is presumably lower than the real-world probability, if you're picking the best adaptations that you want for your minion.)

With Brann, the probabilities go up to about 0.91, 0.15 and 0.0075, respectively. So that's much more probable, although of course Brann will be rotating out of standard which reduces the amount that this will happen.

In order to bring the probability up above 0.5 for the second strategy, you would need to do 16 adaptations. For the third strategy, it comes to 35 adaptations. (You never hit 100% probability, because there's always some chance of picking only stacking adaptations.)

Yeah, that's easily one of my favorite cards in the set (and I love the set so far). So much flavor, great artwork, great design gameplay wise, and it looks pretty playable too. I especially like that it has a lot of synergy with the Warrior toolkit (Whirlwind-effects, Brawl, Taunt buffs) without being too obvious about it. It's like in the good old days when you had some stuff that damaged your minions and stuff that liked being damaged, but you sort of had to figure out how to go from there.

Some German site revealed the Druid legendary. 10 Mana 12/12 can't be targeted by spells or hero powers. I'm mainly disappointed that this wasn't a massive Brachiosaur, would have been absolutely perfect.

[up][up]Surely "Cannot be targeted by spells" also applies to random spells? And AOE I presume.

But I mean, yeah, BGH. It's just a shame that Druid has no other big minions to bait BGH out on.
