I'm briefly considering dusting my Golden Gruul so I can craft Dr. Balanced.

Though he could be useful against the Grim Guzzler boss...

Fanfiction I hate.

The record has been set for the longest turn in Hearthstone history: 45 hours plus.

Mage and Priest manipulate the board to have seven Prophet Velens, each buffed with massive quantities of Velen's Chosen, then cast nine Arcane Missiles. 240K missiles at 0.67 seconds per equals over 44 hours of animation. Obviously, Ice Block was used.

Three new Blackrock Mountain cards have been announced!

  • Nefarian: 9 mana 8/8, Battlecry: Add two random spells from your opponent's class to your hand.
  • Drakonid Crusher: 6 mana 6/6, Battlecry: If your opponent has 15 or less health gain +3/+3.
  • Volcanic Drake: 6 mana 6/4, costs 1 less for each minion that died this turn.

I can see all of these being viable. Nefarian sounds like a lot of fun, though I'm not sure how well he'd fit into various control decks. His viability might also vary depending on what classes are common in the meta.

The dream with Nefarian is to get Force of Nature and Savage Roar. On the other end of the spectrum you could get double Cobra Shot.

Still a really cool card, in any case. I'll be trying it out in the dragon deck I'll inevitably make.

Nefarian sounds awesome. It's like a neutral Thoughtsteal, sort of. Too bad it's really, really slow.

Drakonid Crusher is a "win more" card. I don't see it being played in anything other than heavy control decks. Aggro decks don't run 6-mana minions, especially when they're the obvious target for a BGH.

Volcanic Drake is a "could be good" card. It seems designed to be used in control decks to punish aggressive decks. AoE clear the board, then drop a free 6/4.

So I think that's all on the non-Legendary neutrals.

Can't wait for the double bestial wrath or totemic might screenshots after Neferian gets released.

Double Cobra Shot isn't even that bad. Cards that aren't playable doesn't mean they're useless, it just means that they're not good enough to compete for slots in a constructed deck. 6 damage to both a minion and the face is certainly decent. If you somehow manage to survive to turn 10 against a Hunter anyway. Some cards that are normally great would actually be kind of useless from Nefarian, since you can't play them before turn 9. Early game removal and such.

The worst scenario is of course double Totemic Might.

I'd argue that double Deadly Poison in would be worse in non-weapon classes. Totemic Might can be cast for free to clear up your hand but if you don't run Blingtron you'd have to spend 1 mana each without any effect.

[up]True. It is considerably more likely you have a weapon than having a totem, though.

Ugh. Don't remind me about Thoughtsteal and Deadly Poison. Or Blade Flurry. Or Shield Slam, for that matter, although that is at least usable with no armor.

What are the chances of still getting Victor Nefarius as a card?

I am going to go with 'not likely'. Nef was never really 'fought' in his human form.

Totemic Might can be cast for free to clear up your hand
And to get more fireballs, if you have Antonidas in play. Works for rogue combos, too.

Nefarion is going straight into Randuin Wrynn. He's gonna be a lot of fun to play.

How fast will Unstable Portal be given the Blackrock Mountain cards? All at once, or week by week?

If it works like all the other "give me a random card" mechanics, all the BRM cards will become valid results immediately upon the expansion's release. This includes the various Shredder cards as well.

The precedent is Webspinner, which could create GvG Beast cards prior to the content being officially activated.

Also, if it works as Naxxramas, all the new cards will become available at arena either immediately or a week early.

It's probably too much bother for them to stagger them. The simplest way to implement an expansion is for the patch to add all the new cards to the pool at once and just prevent you from earning them.

With Naxx the cards became available in the arena when their respective wing became available. I see no reason why they wouldn't do that again.

Also, on March 30th 10 AM PDT there will be a live stream revealing all the remaining cards, as announced here. Probably not the most convenient time for those at work/school in the US, but considering it's 7 PM CEST for me, I cannot complain.

[up]Are you sure that was the case? I am probably remembering wrong, but I thought the whole Nax was available on Arena even before the first wing was released.

[up]The cards of each Naxx wing were added on the week that the wing came out. Which is ever so slightly unfair for the classes that don't have their class challenges until late, but it's only 1 card out of the entire card collection, so it doesn't make any noticeable difference.

I just fought a Murloc Paladin. And utterly crushed it with my Control Paladin.

I didn't know that was even a thing or why anyone would play it at rank 9. Or why anyone would choose Paladin for a Murloc deck. I thought Warlock and Shaman worked best for it.
