Aevum has been banned from the forums, thus this RP is now dead.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.
"I'm not what people see, this is but a crown,
A tool that gave me status, and flipped my life upside down,
I was handed it with good reason, even though I didn't ask,
I was best fit to wear it, this crown that is my mask…"
In the great land of Astoria, the land that held the most influence and power, the people cheer and shout with delight under the rule of King Sindra. Inheriting the Throne of Kings after the passing of his tyrant father, Sindra altered the laws and the rules of the nation, and abolished slavery. In the eyes of the people of Astoria, and the people in the countries of other lands, Sindra was a savior to them all.
With people continuing to fall under his banner and defecting from their own nations, the land of Astoria grew mightier with each passing day, gaining the envy and hatred of the other nations. This in course led to nations aligning themselves with Astoria, and forming alliances in order to gain the favor of the people, and to get closer to Sindra himself.
Sindra, The Savior was what he soon became. The golden crown upon his head both a beacon of want and hope, and of greed and despair for some. He was both loved and hated, envied and despised for his kind heart and his generous rule. Assassinations were placed upon his head, and despite all their attempts they had always failed to kill him… but they never failed in getting to his families.
Alone stood the King of Kings for years, a man without family, or without an heir. He knew the price that would be held once he wore the crown; a life of solitude. For the life of a king is one that should not be enjoyed if one means to serve for the people. But even a selfless king has their limits.
Consulting with his great advisor and magician, Solomon, he had him erect mighty towers across the land of Astoria, and caverns and abysses underneath the soil as dungeons, filled with both his hoards of treasure and his weapons crafted by the gods. After this act was done, Sindra drew his holy sword, and plunged it deep within Solomon’s chest with a tearful cry. As Solomon died, his spirit parted, and his essence went into the world.
And with this final act, it was declared, a game among both the people and the kings of the world by the Savior that all had envied, admired, hated, and loved:
“In the years to come, when the descendants of Solomon who are born with his essence have been brought into this world, they shall choose their own candidate for the king who shall inherit my throne. Once the candidates for king have been chosen, they may plunge into the depths of the dungeons and the heights of the towers that have been erected. Here they shall find my treasure, and my weapons crafted by the gods. Only a King Candidate and a Descendant of Solomon may enter these bountiful places and return alive. Whether or not one chooses to enter these lairs, will decide how easy the next task shall be.
“There can only be one person to inherit the Throne of Kings, my throne. Thus, it matters not whether you gain the support of all the Descendants of Solomon, or if you slay all of them and their King Candidates, just as long as one remains or is chosen. Once a single candidate is left, then come to me in my castle in the heart of Astoria, The Kiln of the First Light. It is here that I shall await, and bless thee with the title, of King of Kings.”
With these words, Sindra returned to his castle along with all of his knights, and waited for the time to come. Without his influence… the world turned to chaos, and the people and kings of the world rushed to the lands of Astoria at a chance to be chosen as king, and to plunder the treasures of the King of Kings. Yet… little did they know, that the Descendants of Solomon would not be ripe for the world just yet. It would take thirty years of chaos for the Descendants of Solomon to finally be born and to grow.
And all the while this went on… King Sindra waited, never being seen by anyone but the knights locked away in his castle. Here, he waited… with the final words of his father ringing in his head.
“…and now I pass down that what people want, this crown that is but a mask,
A tool that I abused, and which led to this ruse,
I hand it down with good reason now, even though you may not ask for it,
I was best fit to wear it once, but the path I chose was not for myself…
“…but so that you, my son, may reign and win the heart of the people as their Savior.”
Hello and welcome to The Game of Kings, a RP inspired by Magi: Labyrinth of Magic! During the course of this RP, Daltar and I shall be your G Ms! Fear us!
In this RP, players will either be playing as a magi/Descendant of Solomon, or a King Candidate and will be trying to either become the King of Astoria, or help someone become the King of Astoria. This means that this is indeed an elimination-based RP, but that doesn’t mean that people will die right away in the beginning (unless people decide to, then go for it).
Now, let's talk about the type of characters players will be able to play as:
First, the Magi, or the Descendants of Solomon. Magi have access to the old magic of Solomon, and are the only ones capable of using magic, making them invaluable allies. Each Magi starts off having a certain magic that they specialize in. These magic are as follow:
Now onto King Candidates and their abilities.
For the most part, a King Candidate is essentially a normal human being, however, their true powers are unleashed once they have cleared a dungeon and have met the god awaiting at the end of the dungeon. The god, upon having a King Candidate reach them, will then imbue that Candidate’s most cherished item with their essence, allowing them to use that god’s power as their own. This power can then manipulate the item of the user to form the weapon of their god which is also imbued with the element of that god’s magic. This power is called “Partial God Hand”.
By utilizing its full power, a King Candidate can call upon the full power of “God Hand”, and take the appearance of the god along with all of their powers. However, the user does not gain the personal features (facial features, body hair, etc.) but rather the clothes, jewelry and sometimes even skin complexion. A common trait of a full God Hand is a third eye forming upon one’s forehead. Performing a full God Hand usually causes great exhaustion upon one’s body if too much time is spent in this form.
Another form of God Hand, are Household God Vessels which are used by those who have sworn allegiance to their King Candidate, and were present when their King Candidate had cleared a dungeon and were given their God Vessel. These people are called Household Members, and are capable of using some of the power of their King Candidate’s God Hand as long as their King Candidate has their God Vessel. Unlike a King Candidate, they can only use one ability of the God Hand, along with the God’s elemental magic.
Now, onto the Character Sheet for those who are interested!
If anyone has any questions or comments, feel free to ask!

Sometimes, you just gotta do the unexpected to catch the expected unexpected individual who you are expecting.
