I've been spending some quality time with Blood Bowl recently, and I wondered if any tropers played this as well.

Played two single player campaign so far; One as orcs and the other as wood Elves. I must say I much prefer the Wood Elves' playstyle. Orcs might be reliable and safe, but they are also boring as heck. I suppose that goes for most bashing teams. "Punch enemy in the face" generally doesn't require elaborate plans and daring gambits.

I can appreciate Orcs for at least having a reliable plan B in the form of throwers and Goblins, though. Every time I was about to lose a bashing war (which didn't happen too often, because Orcs), all I needed to do was break out my thrower carrying the ball, make a pass towards the Goblin that had been standing within scoring distance since the start of the drive.

But yeah, Wood Elves are just so much more fun to play as. Score fast, score often, and make the opponent look stupid while you're at it. Sure, they die a lot and rely on rather risky tactics, but what would Blood Bowl be without some risks?

Just started a new campaign as the Skaven. Having some good fun swarming the opponents ball carrier with Gutter Runners. Never thought units with strength 2 would be this effective. Makes me seriously regret not using the Wood Elves catchers as much as I should have.

But yeah, I think I've seen enough of the AI to last me a life time. I think I should find a few human opponents soon, if only so I could embarrass myself properly.

Bumbsy-bumb.

In case anyone is interested, in 20 minutes, I'll be streaming my first time playing online on Twitch. Here's a link to my channel.

I hope to see someone cheering on my rookie Orc team: The Smashing Hits.

I've tried it a few times since getting it in a Humble Bundle, but I just can't quite figure out the rules properly and I'm not patient enough to read through the tabletop rules to understand how to play the video game...

Huh. Apparently, Blood Bowl II is about to be released, and no one told me about it. There's even a beta up and everything. Seems like as good a time as any to revive this thread.

Kinda miffed about the pre-order bonus, though. I mean, free DLC as a pre-order bonus on the day of release is one thing, but two different DLC and making players choose is not the sort of thing I'd want to support.

I mean, I still pre-ordered it, since this game falls under the "was going to buy it anyway" clause of my pre-order policy. Still kinda iffy.

Oh well. I picked Lizardmen. Had a difficult time choosing at first, but then I realised that everyone was going Wood Elves because Elves. Goddang Elves. Argumen ex Hipsterum or whatever.

'sides, I played enough Wood Elves in the first Blood Bowl.
