Well, they think they're better than Eizan. If they weren't being dicks about it I think people would be more open to that.

It's not being jerks that I dislike, but rather there's no reason to care about them right now. So if Soma and/or Takumi win, it's just whatever...

Now if it was Nikumi that lost like Arha said, then I'd care.

I agree with the sentiment.

That's why I want to go to another venue next chapter instead of focusing on something that's probably not going to lead to anything immediate.

I mean, for drama purposes someone we have to know (and ostensibly care about) has to lose.

I still think Kuga's going to lose to Tsukasa.

That's why I feel nothing is going to happen now, this is probably just to establish they're assholes.

Now when someone we care about loses, then it's on. Probably Megumi or Nikumi.

Probably Marui or Yuki or whatever. They're Polar Star dorm so it'll be more personally and they've been established to be just good enough that it's series without any doubt that Soma or someone else could easily take whoever beat them down.

I was wondering if everyone was overreacting about the Mook warriors, but now I've seen them.

What a bunch of shits. They look like shits. They act like shits. They are shit.

This is why I don't want to waste time on them. There's literally noting about them that's interesting. Even Eizan wasn't obnoxious like this with his initial appearance in the series.

And it would honestly make me happy in showing these so called equals to the Elite Ten chosen by Central are all talk in the end.

Well, they need to establish that supporters of Central are somewhat competent; it'd be kinda of ridiculous if the big bad organization filled with the best of the best lost to a bunch of First years.

Honestly I just want to get to filling the three open spots. Finding out how that's going to work is the most interesting hanging thread to me right now.

Well, they've been mowing down mooks, so that should be enough. Eizan went down pretty quickly, too, after his bout with that skewer guy.

Like I said, Eizan was around longer, so we already knew how much of an asshole he was.

Eizan losing was more due to circumstances and letting himself atrophy than Soma truly being better than him, as the series has pointed out more than once.

Plus, from the looks of things that particular subplot isn't over yet.

Indeed.

The new guys think Eizan lost because he's weak. I believe Souma said that Eizan still created an incredible dish despite not even being prepared to cook.

If he'd been taking it seriously from the start, he'd have destroyed Souma, something only Eizan, Troll Girl (forgot her name) and Souma himself understands.

These new clowns think they are in his league, but they don't even fully understand what happened.

And that's exactly why I want them to just be put down quickly and go away. They're not winning anyone over by sticking around and being smug dicks about it, especially if they're going to fodderize characters the audience care about.

If they fodderized characters we cared about we might take them seriously though. The instant they lose to, say, Ikumi we know that we absolutely don't have to care about them anymore and then the only people for Souma to really struggle against are the Elite Ten and Azami himself.

Which would just kind of undermine Central as a whole. But on the flipside, I really don't want this arc to pad out with this stuff.

Also, I like the little snippet of Azami and Eizan's talk. Short but revealing about both of their mindsets.

im betting kurokiba will lose this one to show centrals strengh... Why not use akira for that?

Probably has something else in store for him. And frankly Ryou losing is more believable, assuming it happens.

This is a nice outcome.

Would have preferred Alice cooking instead of Ryou though, but I'd accept it if he lost this.

Ryou huh? There's no reason in particular he has to win. In fact, losing would build up credibility given that he's supposed to be on par with Souma. It's better than Hayama losing too because of the three Ryou was really the third wheel in the finals.
