Shokugeki No Soma

Erina will probably just compare him to his Dad, when Soma doesn't want to be compared to his Dad. Like, Erina would probably rationalize "Oh, he's only good because of his Father obviously and not his own skills." and considering Soma prides himself as not like his Dad, that'd probably bother him a bit.

Eh, I don't think Souma dislikes her. She's probably the first person who he wasn't able to win over in short order so she confuses him, but he's always unflinchingly friendly with her, and whenever he needs her help he goes to her totally convinced she will be perfectly willing to assist him.

I'd assume next chapter is partly going to be a montage of the Elite Ten dashing the hopes of anyone hoping to get their organization back. Should be fun. It seems like the fourth seat specializes in sweets but any guesses about the others?

Day 3, still no chapter.

For those who care, there's a translation over on Tumblr for the chapter.

Someone claiming to be one of the scanlators on Reddit has said that they've rearranged their schedule and from now on Shokugeki No Soma will come out on Sundays.

There's no chapter but there's a translation?

Translating takes a lot less time than scanning and redoing entire pages I'd imagine.

Yep. Cleaning is the more time-consuming job in a scanlation team than the actual translation.

Well, seems Souma has his priorities in order. How dare he be expelled before teaching Souma something he probably won't use anyway?

Ah, yes, the shadowy mysterious 'totally elite ten tier guys' who have never appeared up to this point. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there's a few Takumis or Naos among the second and third years, but not as many as the story tries to claim and they're pretty much guaranteed to be below Eizan at least. And there can't be that many since the 92nd generation has been repeatedly noted to be especially talented.

Nooooo she did the one thing I thought she might to save herself from the Smug: She was immediately honest about her relationship to Souma's dad.

Well, all told, not much really happened, but it was still pretty much okay.

Yeah, set up chapter. And not really good set up, if I'm being honest.

What didn't you like about it.

Ok, this chapter cleared up something that wasn't really clear in the translation.

So all of the clubs that want to fight for their right to keep their club have their Shokugeki's scheduled and they can't be refused. I also didn't know Central was an actual faction within the school.

But yea, setup. Kinda indifferent.

Oh, matches with characters we're not supposed to care about? Yea, I imagine this is just to showcase the skill of the other Elite 10 before they face off with the main characters...its gonna be annoying as fuck tho if we have to sit through each and every Shokugeki.

I imagine I'll only start caring when Megumi goes to a match.

Probably because it's setting up something I figured the story would skip over and don't care about.

Well, for one thing I'm not actually sure why they were acting like what Isshiki did was so clever. Honestly, I'd figure Azami would have rules like that anyway just to get his point across. And why didn't Momo know about it? Was she not there? It was just something really basic and obvious that they were talking about as if he was so sneaky and such. It felt forced.

And I continue to not care about most of the people in the dorm. I've actually been finding them more annoying ever since this whole thing started. We should not spend a lot of time with them. It's not like what's going on with them actually matters.

I feel like the latter is meant to counter-balance how the last couple of arcs focused on Soma and/or some of the characters from the Fall Classic finals...I admit tho, I am more intrigued by them than the Polaris Dorm members soooo....yea, more Alice plz

Well, lets see how this goes.

I remember someone saying they really wanted the Polar Star to get more focus, but I don't remember who. So let's see how well they do with the focus now that everyone's invested in the Erina and Souma plot lines. It's not like I don't like Yuuki or Shun.

Actually, Shun seems like one of the few characters who might very well go with Central.

Its not that I don't like them, its just that they've been so disconnected from the plot while we've got to know other characters, its a bit jarring the focus they're getting.

I'd only hate it if they did nothing interesting with it.

It occurs to me that this situation is perfect for giving Kuga that rematch he wanted with Tsukasa. He'll most likely get crushed again but I'm pretty sure it's going to happen.

Well, that was a tedious read. It's mostly exposition, and I only skimmed the text so I didn't really pay attention to what exactly was being said. So can anyone explain to me how Isshiki was able to make those Shokugeki rules and everyone else just went along with it? Doesn't the E10 work on a consensus? If everyone else who's siding with Azami disagreed with his policies, shouldn't they be able to overrule it?
