It's NOT Toriko without superpowers. It's a more standard cooking manga.
That said, the foodgasms are amazing and kind of weirds me out. Can't say I've seen a lot of this food-themed fanservice...
I mean in how it goes into such detail about the food and the fact that it's also a Shonen Jump Manga, It feels like Toriko would love to taste them.
Imagine what his Foodgasm would like in this series.
Watch SymphogearGoing into that much detail about food is fairly common in cooking manga, it's not something that's exclusive to Toriko.
I just take issue with the statement "It's basically Toriko without superpowers" because the two series are, aside from the focus on food, are very different. Especially when one considers Soma is closer to the sports genre, while Toriko is a battle manga dresses up with food.
I don't' see what the big deal is.
But whatever.
This weeks chapter came out. Training from Hell ahoy.

Watch SymphogearIt's a big deal because it's misinformation. It would be one thing if it was just trivial or minor details but you're describing an entire work here. Saying it's "basically Toriko without superpowers" is a bad way to describe the series, that's what I'm saying.
I'm not really pumped up for the Training from Hell arc, but I'd like to see yet another smug guy get whupped.
There are a lot of things I hated about Toriko that didn't involve the superpowers and aren't present in this series.
I'd like it if the name of the camp isn't ironic, and copping an asshole attitude will get you "fired" because that's what would happen in a real restaurant, where getting along with your co-workers is a vital part of making the kitchen work.
Yes, smug guy thinks he's competing against our hero, so puts his effort into "defeating" him. Only to find out that "winning" isn't the point.
Ooh, that'd be interesting. Kind of doubt it'll happen, but still.
Wow this manga is like Toriko without Superpowers!
I treat all living things equally. That is to say, I eat all living thingsI'm really liking it so far.
I wish we'd see more of the main girl, given the first chapter. On the other hand, this looks like it's shaping up to be a long-runner, so I guess that's okay.
Chapter 17 has been put up.
First volume's cover:

Nice cover.
Re: Ch. 17 The Aldini dudes are actually pretty cool. Also good ol' cooking manga schtick, leaving the secret ingredient as a cliffhanger.
Damn, is that the bacon and potatoes dish(Pork Roast-Not!)? The first two dishes in the series are still my favorites.
I treat all living things equally. That is to say, I eat all living thingsDoes that include the Transforming Furikake Gohan? 'Cause that was really cool.
New chapter.
Using the snacks for deep frying.
So awesome.
And that mental image was hilarious.
New chapter.
Yes, it's a draw.
I really like Takumi's schtick of saying something cool, and then the next scene throws that cool factor down the drain. His little bro's enjoying it a lot!
A meeting with Erina! Expecting things to heat up.
Finally. I was wondering when she'd show up again. And he almost completely avoids the typical Accidental Pervert thing too.
New chapter...
Wait. Megumi's expelled!?
I'm sure that she won't end up being gone for long, if Souma has anything to say about it.
Watch SymphogearWe all know it's not going to last.
They have to keep the inevitable love triangle going somehow, right? Although, to be honest, it would be appropriate given that she hasn't really demonstrated that she's on par with anybody else in the group.
I hope they go through with Megumi's expulsion, just to show that plot armor can be broken.
Of course, I don't think it's likely to happen.
It won't, but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't.
I'm not really sure of what purpose she serves in the story, to be honest. It's not like there's romance to speak of (yet), and the crew at the dorm hasn't really been developed enough yet to justify keeping her as the Team Pet or something.

Her failures give Soma a chance to save her.
(I mean, this is what this basically is— a setup for Soma to cook like a boss.)
This needs a thread, if it doesn't have one.
But man, this manga.
It' basically Toriko without superpowers, focuses on the cooking aspect of food more, with The Beautiful People as opposed to cartoony ones, and with hilariously orgasmic food reactions.
I love it so far already.
