I don't really see how post-Wifi-shutdown rescuing would work at all; even if it was code-based, the host game would have no way of knowing whether or not it was accepted unless you did it locally.
/ah, alright then

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyYou get a rescued code
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeThe code rescue doesn't actually use WFC, it's completely "offline", and works kinda like this:
- Victim faints, is given the option to send out a help code
- Victim send the help code to friends/randoms via whatever messenger or social media outlet or forum
- Helper enters the code and does the mission, reaches the floor the victim fainted, get a rescue code
- Helper sends victim the rescue code
- Victim inputs rescue code, resumes dungeon from where they fainted, they also get a thank-you code they can (should!) send the helper
- Helper inputs thank-you code to receive rewards

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! So it's finally the end of the postgame and beginning of the Playable Epilogue of Super Mystery Dungeon.
Mister Traitor #1, and the Beheeyem showed up to be in my way again and try to kill off the Replacement Goldfish. After we dealt with him apparently the replacement goldfish was sick because of the partner's essence being with him. So after deciding that even the replacement goldfish was worth it and the protagonist couldn't bear to lose another buddy, the Power of Friendship won and brought back the partner.
Now that the postgame storyline is done, I can finally evolve! My favorite evo of Totodile is Croconaw so that's probably how my protagonist will look like for the rest of the game until I restart it. Evo'd my parter to Bayleef just to match the looks.
The rest of the game consists of just catching them all, and treasure hunting. Apparently I already got one of the sacred treasures previously (Water Looplet) but I sold it not knowing what it was! I wonder how that'd impact my game.

I learned something when I fought one of storyline bosses. It might apply to all the designated bosses.
Their boss status recovery thing (edit: seems to) only remove one status effect per turn. One of the bosses gained Sleep and Confusion on the same turn, and the message log says it recovered from statuses faster. Sleep was removed, so it was still confused on my turn.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!I think Confused also stays longer than other statuses.
also a good thing to note is that Truant never goes away.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.That... may be true, I should go test more.
Also, does anyone know of any Peninsula of Power Leveling in SMD? I honestly don't care as much for those motivated "nobodies" compared to my protagonists.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! That's a shame because the best way to grind experience is to wait for an Unown to become motivated and then take all of your motivated mons out into a particularly challenging dungeon. IIRC doing this can net you about 6x the XP as normal.
Time to ruin everything I guess.I don't see why character loyalty is a shame at the expense of game mechanics that reward using a variety of characters disloyalty.
Anyway, question still stands, Peninsula of Power Leveling where? Unless it's just simply "take mons into thirty floor dungeons" in this iteration.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Yeah. Everywhere I look just says "sucks to suck".
So you'll have to grind the old fashioned way (as in, get a shit ton of gold bars and sell them for vitamins. The stats cap out at 255 regardless of what level you are).
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeIf that's what it takes. At least for the Protagonist and Partner.
I just bought Excavation Looplet...
So let's get dangerous.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Good luck to you.
Time to ruin everything I guess. They decided people aren't gonna use the Pokemon like Luvdisc and Unown, they might as well try. They have failed. (Except Unown.)
I only have 150 gold bars right now.
Around 150 in each stat seems like a good place to stop.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! What does help is some trick involving water looplets and throwing vitamins around.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.Sonuva, I accidentally sold that! I could buy another from Glorious Gold, but...
Wait, since that trick exists... it's time to restart the game and enjoy the story again! Thanks! <3

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!I just started the game. And promptly died to the Beedrill bosses. Maybe I should try and see if I can get some blast seeds.
No idea of what is going on.Super Mystery Dungeon? Cool. What starters did you pick?
I will be restarting the game soon as Riolu + Squirtle or Piplup, formerly Totodile + Chikorita.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Totter orbs and Truant wands are amazing for handling crowd fights.
Also having a fire pokemon on your team helps. Like.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.Wasn't that the story mission where you only go with the protagonist and partner to rescue budew because it went off to find honey for its mother?

I hate controlling Ghost-type Pokemon. The problem is they can go through walls, and since hunger is back, accidental use of this ability = goodbye 5 points of Belly.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!I never understood why walking through walls depletes so much hunger (hunger is a stupid mechanic anyways and I have cheats to make it infinite). It makes a gameplay feature effectively worthless. Not even my cheats seem to be able to counter it.
Hail to the King of Feraligatrs! Shameless advertisingNot having hunger takes away a lot of the challenge. It was one of the reasons gates to infinity was so awful. The reason is takes up so much hunger is so you can't just b-line straight to the steps.

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeWell I have different ideas what a legit "challenge" is. Sorry.
Hail to the King of Feraligatrs! Shameless advertisingBut... it's a roguelike. Part of the challenge from that type of game is resource management.
It's fine if you don't like it, but you can't really consider it not a legit challenge when that's part of the core gameplay style.

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeAnd I don't consider a lot of roguelikes' BS a real "challenge". Hence why I mostly dislike the genre.
Hail to the King of Feraligatrs! Shameless advertisingI love me some rougelikes, but I've never been a fan of the hunger mechanic. Yes I know it adds to the challenge and all, but it's still a pain in the ass to manage with. I already have a rough time with the enemies, adding in hunger makes it worse.

I feel like restarting/replaying this game! SMD is so good.
I like how no one goes on vacation/"closed" for Pelipper Island missions.
Well someone has to die in that older game and give you a code. Sadly I no longer have my older carts, I could've helped with that...
