...who?
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!A very interesting interview with Shuhei Yoshida.
That statistic already justifies a bunch of re-releases, but he also had this to say on the matter:
I suppose there's also a motivation to not sink any development dollars into a remaster that's ultimately going to be competing with your own streaming service (PS Now).
European developers prefer the PS4 as the go-to console to develop for (even though PC and Mobile edge it out in the end).
A new video claims that Sony's current crop of consoles have sold a combined 100 Million Units (PS 3, PS 4, and Vita). Last I checked, the PS 3 was at 80 million as of November 2013, the PS 4 was at 7 million as of April 2014, and the Vita was at 4 million as of January 2013. All those numbers have surely grown since then.
One rough armchair analysis I read is projecting 9 million PS 4's, 84 million PS 3's and 7 million Vitas sold. I could see the numbers trading between the PS 3 and Vita here and there. I should note that the Vita has been low on stock lately, which probably means some kind of slightly-new unit being released (not a full re-design, but something to bring the cost down). That could explain the older models getting phased out.

Dan Teasdale puts it best regarding John T. Drake. Sony is building a dream team.

Hopefully he'll be involved in something rhythm-related. I always liked reading his stuff on Rock Band's forums.
That... sounds like a unique situation.

@ryuhza Man, that kinda sucks.
I HAVE IT FINALLY!
Congrats
He talked a bit about the idea of allowing early access games on their system, not unlike Steam. I'm aware of the negative reputation early access has earned itself, so I'd rather not misconstrue his words here. The quotes and questions regarding that topic are scattered throughout the interview, including the interviewer giving his grievances with buying broken games that are never completed. So I'll just leave this here:
If you're interested in Sony's history and have an hour to spare, this keynote is pretty informative.

Sony's Gamescom Media briefing is set.
Shuhei Yoshida stated in this video that "we have some things for GamesCom and TGS."
I'm hoping for whatever Media Molecule and Guerrilla Games are working on gets announced.

We know we are getting way more info on KH 3 and FFXV at least since that was the reason they didn't show up at E3(because SE uses E3 for new stuff and TGS and Gamescom for more info).
In a Sweden exclusive interview Sony also stated that The Last Guardian isn't cancelled and that "it's receiving a lot of love from us" while talking about delayed games.
They literally say that every two months or so.
Has a Vaporware game ever turned out good?

I am firmly convinced 15 won't come out before 2016. A whole decade in vaporware.

The PlayStation 4 was the best-selling console for the sixth consecutive month, outdoing the Xbox One's Kinect-less price cut (and their apparently doubling their North American American sales since then).
Since the PS 4 was at 7 million sold last reported, where could they be now? 8 million? 9 million?
When was it last reported?
I posted above (#1879) that it goes all the way back to November of last year. They want 10 million by next April, but at this rate they'll reach that milestone before Christmas.
If 7 million is as of April, they are most certainly not at 8 yet. 7.5 maybe. We are in the slow months of the year. There's no games getting people to buy the system.
Consider that E3 happened between April and now. Plus we've had some decently-sized releases like Watch_Dogs, which was a big seller. And the Last of Us remaster is hitting this month, which a lot of people who never had a PS 3 are excited for.

every little word and every little stepThe general public doesn't watch E3. Gamers watch E3. And the people who E3 would convince to buy a system were the ones who bought it last year.
Watch_Dogs was almost two months ago. The Last of Us is upcoming.
This isn't a bad thing. It's just not the peak sales time, so it hasn't sold a million units in two months. It's not that big a deal.

No, 7 million is as of November 2013. In that time we've seen the release of COD: Ghosts, inFAMOUS: Second Son and Watch_Dogs.
Though March and April were when Titanfall was peaking in popularity, so that might've dented their momentum a bit (even though the PS 4 still won those months as well).
