It doesn't take place in the 80s, it's comparatively dark, the only members of the Brat Pack I remember from it are Rob Lowe and Emilio Estevez, and it's directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Were Ralph Macchio and Matt Dillon members? I feel like I'm missing something.

They were. Patrick Swayze and Tom Cruise were also in it, although Swayze was a lot older than the others.

It does have a critical lack of Ringwald.

Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great

I just thought it was a silly adaptation of a good, serious book.

I didn't think it was that bad an adaptation, really.

Eh. It has its moments, but I really can't take the movie as a whole seriously at all.
