Equestria Girls: A MLP:FiM Spin Off

Going by the 10 minute preview for Friendship Games its possible that the Equestria Girls world might become an Urban Fantasy setting if magic becomes more common place. Maybe Human Twilight rips a hole between dimensions that allows magic to enter the human world (or at least the Canterlot area)?

Maybe it'll kick of a TV series where Sunset and the Humane 5 have to help their classmates deal with their new abilities, fight off other threats that Starswirl banished, human versions of various MLP villains, etc.

It's an idea, but I don't know how likely it is.

The next EGQ thing is called Legend of Everfree... so.. who knows. It hasn't been confirmed whether it's a movie or a full on series, but time will tell.

Legend of Everfree huh? I wonder what the chances of the human!mane six and Sunset Shimmer crossing over to the main universe are given that we see glimpses of the Everfree Forest in the Friendship Games trailer and I highly doubt that the human universe has it's own Everfree Forest.

I didn't know there was a bit of discussion on Celestia. My 2 cents: she has potential, but the people on the show have done nothing with it. She's supposed to be wise and competent, but the writers don't feel like making that the case for whatever reason.

As for the preview, I wonder why it'd be 10 minutes long because that's already a fair chunk of the film. Whatever to keep the fans appetized, I suppose.

Not 'The Writers" just Meghan, it's one of her most annoying tendencies, nerfing any Princess who isn't Twilight, and Cadance to a slightly lesser degree.

A stretch, but if you squint at the season 5 poster there appears to be a silhouette of a ponified Watermelody standing in front of the yaks. So yeah.

The sneak peeks for Rainbow Rocks all added up to about the first 10 minutes of its movie. More or less the same deal here.

As much as I'd like to think it's only Meghan, she's not running the episodes she writes by herself. I don't know if others working on the episodes would be able to comment on it if they felt that something was off. Also, Celestia's uselessness is one of the reasons I don't care for almost all of the 2-parters.

Also, she's had other questionable moments such as with "Sonic Rainboom" and "Make New Friends but Keep Discord", and I can't come up with good answers for those. Or maybe that's why she needs more meaningful screentime.

I never looked at the previews for Rainbow Rocks, but then again I just started watching Equestria Girls just a few months ago.

First one, when would she have time? The Wonderbolts took care of it, and by the time they got taken out, RD was already on her way.

The second, she was trolling the entire Gala. The Smooze wasn't hurting anyone, so why stop it when it's livening things up?

Yeah, Sonic Rainboom was a case of "I'm going to let the professional flyers handle this" and by the time they were KO'd, she was too far away. The Smooze thing is explained by her trollish streak.

For "Sonic Rainboom", I suppose she would leave it to the Wonderbolts first, but it's a good thing Rainbow Dash manage to fix things after the Wonderbolts failed. I just have to wonder what if Rainbow Dash failed that time too. For the Smooze episode, I meant that Discord was threatening Tree Hugger. Of course, good thing Fluttershy stepped in. I guess what I'm really wondering is how she perceives these events because she seems to cut things a bit close.

why couldn't Celestia teleport?

Has Celestia ever actually been shown teleporting?

That's what I figure, if RD hadn't made it, Tia could have just teleported to the ground and caught the falling ponies.

Gala, like you said Fluttershy stepped in. Again, when dealing with a character with at least some level of prescience, you never can tell what is all part of some plan.

Eh, the movie will be out next week, so I'll wait.

Since the Everfree Forest is pretty isolated, I wonder if the Human Six can get away with a trek through there? Aside from Zecora, there's not a risk of bumping into prime universe characters to appease the canon status quo.

Wait next week is when the movie airs? I thought it wasn't airing until later than that.

New episodes start next week. Friendship Games isn't until the 26th.

Anyways, this doll ad is... oddly watchable. Maybe Hasbro should do their toy ads like this from now on?

I'd imagine that consistently doing stop motion ads would be a bit difficult. But I will admit that I'd take those kinds of ads over their other ones.
