More like reverse Muppets Babies.

The giant baby pony toys have always scared me, even way back in G3. (I've been a pegasister for a while.)

My father cringes every time he passes the baby Pinkypie in diaper while he does clean up in the toy isle at Walmart. Yeah... Those toys creep me out too. Though it's different for him during his graveyard shift because of the laughing those toys make.

Well, I for one am happy. I like the Equestria Girls universe.

Still, I would prefer a EG show.

You know, I was wondering why EG!Big Mac had normal skin-colored skin instead of being red. But after I saw EG!Luna have light blue skin instead of dark blue skin, I realized something: no human character had skin that's a dark or sharp color.

Even the mane cast had their skin reduced to a more pastel shade of their original colors. Probably because making a human with the same skin color as say, pony Luna would look kinda weird.

Given how Uncanny Valley and just.. wrong EQG Luna looks in the first place, doubt it would have made things worse.

I'm not really a fan of the EQG designs, but I don't hate them either. Just, meh. Except Luna, holy fuck did they mess up with her.

EDIT: Also, a THIRD?! God, why not make a damn cartoon of it?! Or better yet, have the team make this into a show already!!!

Rainbow Rocks is being compared to Jem. I heard Hasbro doesn't have the rights to Jem anymore. Is this true?

Considering that Hasbro was dumb enough to somehow lose the rights to almost all the G1 MLP characters {Aside from Spike, AJ and one other pony I can't remember}, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case.

Also, for some reason Rainbow Rocks actually looks better then the first film. I don't know, something about it actually looks more interesting, and I probably won't be so hesitant to check it out like I was with EQG.

To me it seems like it's gonna have a more consistent tone. It's all about hanging out and rock and roll with the magic coming in as Slice of Life like the show itself. In the original even the trailer showed us there was a big disconnect between "epic fantasy plot" and "high school movie" plot.

Which is exactly why I'm not upset with the trailer. I'm curious if there's a subplot going on that the trailers are not showing because it'll lead to something big like the previous film.

What I'm concerned about is how they'll introduce Twilight even though she only existed within the use of the mirror.

@leafon: Hasbro does have the rights to Jem, as well as getting back the G1 ponies.

Hasbro seems to be banking on this whole 80's/90's nostalgia/ bright neon colors craze that's been going on. They're probably just riding MLP because it's popular.

I would have preferred that these came out during the pony-less months, and I probably would have preferred shorts for the normal show in that case, but this was decent enough.
