...if those are the rules.
What do you think about this◊ fancy do-up of the rules for Fight Club? Granted, it's probably stretching the definition of the trope a bit.

*sigh* Yeah, on a crop-and-resize the tiny text ranges from eyestraining to unreadable.
Still, is the concept sound?

Like Willbyr said, "...if those are the rules." Merely calling something "Gentlemen's" doesn't mean much. A Gentlemen's Boxing Club sounds like it's just rich boys fighting. I do like what the fancy do-up of the rules for Fight Club says, but there should really be an image in the image spot.
I do believe that you have in fact both agreed on the most important point, namely that the fighting will have rules.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableIf we could find a picture of him thrusting his fists out in a manly fashion to show his willingness to fight clean, that might work better than him just standing there.
Clock is set.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
While I don't think the current is merely JAFAAC - I know nothing about the person, and he impresses me as someone who will pulverise me for sport without being unnecessarily coarse or uncivil about it, then clean his gloves with a handkerchief and call for an doctor - I much prefer the first suggestion for nearly all of the same qualities and being more explicitly tied to the trope. (I think the daguerreotype clashes with the art style of the font.)
I mean, how do you think fights happen in a Gentlemen's Boxing Club? Cravenly tatterdemalions, bashing each others' skulls open with lead pipes for an handful of coins?
