Justice Avengers: Jump City at Dusk

Aquaman plucked his trident out of Red She-Hulk's back, then cast his eyes up to where the specks that were Majestic and Desmond were making there way back to Earth. And Majestic was coming first.

They slammed into the pavement, Blockbuster standing over Majestic. He raised his fists triumphantly, bellowing his first sentient words since his metamorphosis.

"BLOCKBUSTER SMASH!" He screamed, pounding his chest. She-Hulk responded in the form of a manhole cover upside the head.

"Get your own catchphrase!" She quipped as Majestic picked himself up out of the crater.

Wonder Girl let out a sigh of relief as Starfire came to her rescue, knocking the struggling Spiderwoman out cold.

"Phew, thanks." She said to the other heroine, looking around. "Now, just gotta find somewhere to stash her and- huh?!" She cut off in an indignant splutter as her captive disappeared in a shower of golden particles. "Oh, come on! Not again!"

Why can't these guys just stay put? Wonder Girl thought bitterly, looking down at her embiggened hands and wincing. Some of her fingers were bent at odd angles, and there was a growing pain in her palms that told her she probably had a few more broken bones there too. A glance around the area made it pretty clear the only fight still going was Majestic vs Big Grey Ugly Guy, and that wasn't something she was gonna jump into the middle of.

"Ow. You know what, I think I'm gonna tap out now." She said, releasing her powers and letting her body shrink. As soon as she'd settled back to regular scrawny-teen-size, she felt her healing factor kick in, her hands and back glowing a faint yellow-orange as bones popped back into place.

Flopping down to sit cross-legged on the curb, the young heroine watched as Majestic and She-Hulk re-engaged Tall Dark And Shouty. Any other day, an opportunity like this would have put her in a geekout-induced coma, but right now she mostly just felt tired.

Static walked over and sat down beside Wonder Girl with a groan. He watched the fight, sticking out his fist.

"Good job." He muttered wearily, but sincerely. "Really."

Majestic grabbed Blockbusters suddenly around the middle, smashing him into the street. A sudden rage gripped Majestic as he punched Blockbuster over and over, screaming wordlessly before he just headbutted the gray monster, over and over and over.

Wonder Girl looked up as Static came over, smiling and flexing one faintly-glowing hand a little before (gently) returning his fist-bump.

"Thanks. I just wish we could have stopped all this before... before all this." She waved one hand to cover the ruined street, burning cars and shattered windows. Her eyes also swept over to the crated where Majestic had started hammering on Blockbuster. Wonder Girl winced at the hero's enraged scream, instinctively shrinking back a bit.

"I- I guess someone else has had a rough night..." She said softly, chewing her lip. She'd never really seen Majestic like this, and to be honest it was... kinda scary.

The cloud of gas that had been hampering Loki formed the blond girl once again, who looked a little annoyed that he just disappeared. At least no one else got hurt in the process. It looked like all the fighting was taking a toll on some of the heroes in the area. The only one still going at it was this giant grey monster and a person she recognized as the man she freed from the basement. As Majestic let out his aggression into the best, she could not help but wince at the display. The girl floated over and gently laid a hand on the hero's shoulder. "I uh I think you got him."

"Yeah, he has not had the best of days," Starfire responded to Wonder Girl deciding to let Majestic with maybe She-Hulk and Blockbuster fight it out. "Neither have any of us had the best of days today."

"Majestic, calm down!" Starfire yelled out to him. "You are scaring our new allies!"

Majestic turned to look at the smoke girl who'd saved him, startled, a smear of blood sliding down his face. Not his own blood. That moment of distraction allowed Blockbuster to swing a desperate chunk of asphalt upside Majestic's head and tackle him out of the crater. Blockbuster hammered his fists down onto Majestic, but Majestic eventually grabbed Blockbuster's arms and...with ease, pushed them away until they made a sickening snap. He stood up and wrapped his arms around Blockbuster, pinioning his arms to his sides, and squeezed as the creature that was once a man screamed in agony. Whether in mockery or still possessed by his rage, Majestic screamed right back,

Katana had been flung out and flew from the alley to the a crash landing into a car. Of course her sensei would come to her rescue, she winced as she stepped out of the bump she caused. She was sore and hurting, a couple of tears on her sleeves. "Yes, but I can fight." said the young woman confidently, dislodging Luckless from the car. Then took a breath and began rushing at Blockbuster in bold retaliation. She only stopped when the screaming of the former man began screaming as Majestic held it.

"Miss M" managed to dodge Loki's attack but unfortunately she wasn't able to attack him, before he escaped.

Then Majestic began to attack Blockbuster... It seemed like another super villain fight at first. But then he began to seriously hurt Blockbuster to the point of making him bleed.

"Cous, what are you doing? ...You ...You are better than this, " she said with her eyes opened and her right hand in her mouth, half open." As she simply couldn't believe what her eyes were seeing.

She had run from a life of crime inspired to become something better... and it was painful to see one of her role models being so blood thirsty.

She-Hulk had seen enough, and so had Aquaman. They ran at Majestic and grabbed his arms, pulling him away. He struggled in their grips as Blockbuster slumped to the pavement, unconscious.

"Come on, hon!" She-Hulk pleaded, grabbing Majestic's right arm as he struggled. "You won! It's over! You're better than this! Remember what I told you back in Rural falls! Let it go!"

After checking up on Katana, Wolverine ran over and stood in front of Majestic as She-Hulk and Aquaman held him back. "Majestic, listen to me!" he yelled at the alien. "We need Desmond alive! He's the only one we have that's worked directly with HIVE! His testimony can lead to the whole organization coming down, and no one will be ever hurt like were ever again! But if you kill him, you're just doing HIVE a favor by covering their tracks for them! I mean, look around you! All. Of. THIS. Was caused by HIVE's victims just randomly lashing out at everyone, perfect for Hammer to just paint the whole thing as the delusion ramblings of dangerously violent mutants!

"Don't let HIVE going off the hook for what they did you go on your conscious!" Wolverine finished.

Kill someone? Majestic blinked in confusion. That didn't make any sense. He would never...and that was the moment that reality began to sink in. He felt the blood on his face and saw the destruction, and his rage melted away to shame and grief and disbelief. He went slack in Aquaman and She-Hulk's arms, sliding to the street on his knees.

"What's wrong with me?" He whispered. Part of him wanted to believe that it was Zod's doing, some sort of influence, some 'evil energy'' that Zod had given him. But he'd felt this rage before. He was a good person. Why did hate and anger come so easily to him? She-Hulk went to her knees beside him, taking his cape and wiping the blood from his face, rubbing his back tenderly.

"It's all right." She said softly. "It's okay."

Looking down from his high-rise, Jonas Wyvern was infinitely amused.

"It's OK, Big Guy" Sandy said to Majestic, standing supportively next to him. Trace Metal was just behind her. "We know you didn't mean it. And after the horrors you were put through-" she hesitated to even think about them. "Just let us handle things now. Go rest."

"What you felt is perfectly normal," Wolverine assured Majestic. "Just try to stop yourself next time your reach that edge." The mutant offered the alien his hand to help the hero up.

Fwooosh- whoooo- bumb-

Steel landed in the ruined battlefield, his scanners noting the damage and everyone else.

"It appears I have consistently missed the thick of battle."

He was still carrying the Adaptoid's body over his shoulder, as well as a black box in his hands.

"I require advise, but perhaps I should ask at a different time."

"Well." Daredevil spoke up, having remained silent through much of what had just happened. People who could fly and Hulks and mutants, that just wasn't his area of expertise. Best to stick to what I know, avoid getting myself in any unnecessary trouble... and meddling with supermen might be the kind of trouble that gives me an injury I can't explain to Foggy.

"You guys seem to have this handled." He muttered, sticking his billy clubs on his belt, looking around. "I'll sniff out any injured civillians. You... deal with whatever it is you're dealing with. Clearly you don't need my help."

Impulse stood by, hands on his hips, watching everything until Flash ran up to the group. "I'm back! Believe it or not, Red She-Hulk has quite the punch." He chuckled, before noticing how drab everyone currently was. "Hold on... why is everyone so quiet? Didn't we just beat the bad guys?"

The whispy girl just watched as the fight continued despite her best efforts to calm him down. It took a couple of the other heroes to pull the man back to get him to calm down. She just stared on in surprise, now feeling a little unsure if it was a good idea to release him as well. Should she have just got out on her own?

"Hey, kid!" Static shouted, following after Kitty when he noticed her leaving. "Hold on!" He'd seen her helping out, and thought she could definitely be something if she just worked on it.

She-Hulk stood up slowly, helping Majestic to his feet. She hated to admit it, but that side of him had scared her. A lot more like her cousin than the sweet, kind farmboy she...

That was when Flash showed up, and she sighed, shaking her head.

"Shoulders had a bit of a breakdown." She said, rubbing his back. She looked down at her red counterpart, poking the other woman with a toe. "Me and Goldfish took care of The Crimson Tide here." Aquaman nodded, and slapped Flash on the back.

"Your friend have been most helpful in the freeing of my people, though Black Manta escaped my grasp once again." He reached into his belt and produced a small, golden conch shell. "If ever you need me, old chum, simply blow on this. And the Strength of Atlantis will be yours."

"Wait, one question," Wolverine said to Aquaman before the Atlantean left. "You're the new king of Atlantis, right?" the mutant asked. "Honestly, I haven't heard of anyone succeeding Namor after he died back in the 80's. Was their anyone before you, or did the empire go without a ruler for a while?"

"Dead?" Aquaman asked, one eyebrow raised. "My father has vanished, but we heard no tales of his death. For a time, his sister Namorita ruled in Atlantis, until the seas brought me to my throne."

"Majestic..." The Flash limped over to him, placing his hands on his friend's shoulder. "Are you alright? What did they do to you, man? Never seen you so... down."

"Thanks, Fish-Man!" Impulse said, giving Aquaman a big grin as he played with the shell. "Oh, man, Star-Lord is gonna love this!"

Majestic looked at Flash sullenly, shaking his head. It touched him that his friend was concerned. But he had no excuses for his behavior. He had to hold himself accountable.

"Nothing." He muttered wearily. "This is all me." He sighed, trying not to look at Blockbuster. "...That...was all me." She-Hulk shook her head, grabbing Majestic's shoulders and making him look at her.

"People get mad all the time. Over stupid things. What they did to you, what he did to you, you've got more than a right to be mad about. You may have the patience of a saint, hun, but that doesn't mean you have to be one. You're a good guy." She pulled Majestic into a hug, and he gratefully returned it.

Then, the police finally showed up. The Bang Babies were handcuffed and put in the back of a van, and some even started to cuff Red She-Hulk. And just when things couldn't get worse, Justin Hammer showed up.

"You don't have enough handcuffs!" He snapped as he got out of his totally-not-compensating Sports Car. "Arrest every single person here!" He gestured wildly at the heroes. "This is as much their fault! Especially those!" He pointed at Flash, Starfire, Aquaman, and Flash. "They were screwing around, bullying me and stealing my property, instead of dealing with this mess!"

"Yeah, what about that deadly robot you sent after us, huh?!" Impulse asked, appearing in front of Hammer and puffing up his chest. "Don't try to act like you're a good guy, cause you're not! Not crash at all!"

"Hey, listen. Most of the things in life are temporary. You can make a mistake once in a while, alright?" Flash told Majestic, ignoring Hammer.

"Huh. Guess that's another thing that SHIELD managed to - " Wolverine then realized something. "Wait.....you're saying that Namor is your - "

That was when the police arrived to clean up all the hostiles. And tagging along was the peanut gallery Douchey Mc Douche Douche Justin Hammer.

"Oh, and let's not forget that underground laboratory you have under the city, specifically right here, where you've had people that were kidnapped right off the streets to have their blood sucked dry?" he said to Hammer, providing Impulse responsible adult back up.
