Rural Falls

If one could see the current events in slow-motion, they'd get the glorious picture as the smirk on Majestros' face was quickly replaced by a scowl, and then by a jaw drop, followed by a furrowed brow. "What?!" He yelled once he realized he had lost the arm-wrestling match. "You... YOU CHEATER!" He roared, his eyes glowing red as he held onto Pulson Girl's hand.

Jump City

"If that will make you feel safer..." The old man said, remaining completely still. "Although... I must warn you, I do get bored easily." He snickered, tapping the cane on the floor. "So entertrain me!"

The new girl- which we'll refer by the kind nickname of Fakefire- got hit by some of the bolts, sending her flying back. As Blackfire tried once more to fly away, Fakefire gritted her teeth, her eyes glowing brighter and brighter as flew after Starfire, trying to forcefully grab her by the legs and throw her to the ground.

Talon, meanwhile, smirked as she flew closer to Thor, stretching her wings as she opened her mouth, sending out a lavender-colored supersonic shriek in the thunder god's direction, aiming to distract her before trying to grab him and throw him towards the ground.

Majestic went from smiling at Pulson Girl's victory to frowning in concern in an instant. An instant later, his hand was gripping Majestros' wrist with all his strength. "All she had to do was pin down your hand." He said, trying to remain calm. "And she did. She won. Now, hold up your end of the bargain." He allowed himself a small smirk. [ "How does it feel, by the way, for a God to be stupider than a bumpkin?"

General Zod, The Phantom Zone

The thing that Zod hated most about the Phantom Zone wasn't that he was imprisoned in a dimension where he had no authority or power or even the fact that he had been forced to take an unfamiliar form, it was simply that nothing. ever. changed. The Phantom Zone was a bleak place and Zod's only company was Ursa, Non and a few others that Zod deemed unfit of being spoken to by Krypton's greatest General. Most of the General's time was spent devising an escape plan with Ursa. Soon, Zod would have his freedom and he would have his revenge on Jor-El and his line.

Ursa, The Phantom Zone

Ursa's knowledge of The Phantom Zone was limited, but she knew enough to assist in an escape attempt. With General Zod's clever and tactical mind, her scientific knowledge and Non's brutish strength they would be sure to find a way out.

Eventually.

Non, The Phantom Zone

Non was confused and angry. He didn't know why Jor-El had sent him here. He also didn't know why he looked different. He had just done what Zod had told him to do.

Non wanted to go back home.

No, he wanted to get back at Jor-El for putting him here.

Then he'd go back home.

Docks? We're at the docks, right?

Prince. Of Thunder.

Thor swung Mjolnir and a bolt of lighting split through the oddly visible soundwaves, cracking the air with the peal of thunder. It was loud, it was bright and it smelled thickly of ozone.

"Age before beauty," Wolverine said, also completely still. He continued to wait for the old man to make the first move. Having only God knows how many years of training and self-discipline, Wolverine could actually stand there all day, and he had the patience for it. This is the kind of fight where being reactive would be more beneficial than being proactive. He just had to wait for the geezer to make a move.........

Rural Falls

Majestros glared down at his younger counterpart, and his eyes stopped glowing. "Fine. I will grace you lesser beings with a taste of victory." He slapped Majestic's hand, freeing his wrist. "Your flashy friend is being used by the Ultimate Syndicate as a generator. After learning of where he comes from, they took an interest in this Jump City. They're going to use your friend's speed to open up a portal and invade it." He glowered. "Now... go do whatever you want to do, before I change my mind and decide to do the universe a favor by eradicating all of you."

Jump City

It seemed like the winged girl had at least read the news, because when she saw Thor raising his hammer, she smiled. When the lightning bolt hit, she dived to the side, narrowly dodging it, leaving with a few burnt feathers. She attempted to attack Thor once more, sending even more hypersonic shrieks his way.

The old man sniffed the air, letting out a quiet 'hm'. "Aren't you an interesting specimen?" He said, smiling. "The others are nothing compared to you. I detected a hint of... regret. Doubt. Desire. Loss, perhaps? But, oh, so much power. I can't wait to get my hands on you." He said, staring at something behind Wolverine and nodding- and if the mutant fell for his trick and turned around, he would point his cane at him, sending a powerful blue bolt of energy flying towards the mutant's gut. If not, he would continue staring at him...

Wolverine could not hear or smell anything behind him, mentally calling out Ragtag's little bluff. He could not help to glance behind him though and was ready to tank whatever shots came at him.

"Why are you giving out powers anyway?" Wolverine asked the old man. Make a conversation. Keep him talking. Root out weaknesses. Get him impatient. REACT......

"I think we just found our way out." She-Hulk said. "Okay, change of plans! We barge in, kick their butts, activate their machine and use that to cross through, hopefully blowing it up on the way out!" She told the others, before walking into the cell, just to make sure Pulson Girl got out safely. "Hey, hun. You did good." She said, putting her hands on the girl's shoulders to lead her out.

Starfire had been surprised by the sudden grab and throw to the ground... Fakefire would find another Starbolt fired at her courtesy of Starfire.

"You do not understand," Starfire spoke to Fakefire, getting up should Starfire be successful at blasting back Fakefire. "The powers he grants are unstable!"

"Shut up!" Fakefire yelled back, dodging the bolt with a grin on her hand, her eyes glowing even more. "You're just jealous because the normal citizen is now as powerful as you!" She held her hands out, firing a barrage of starbolts towards Starfire.

"Must everything have a reason these days?" Ragtag said, shrugging. "I just feel like it. The sight of these men and women having a taste of power brings a smile to my lips."

"So you just feel happy whenever you give out some random powers, huh?" Wolverine responded. "I guess that some of them willing to do anything for another jolt of power is just a nice bonus then. Or do you just enjoy watching some of them go crazy and wreck stuff?"

"If you see a poor orphan on the television, will the story of how he got poor matter?" The old man asked. "Is it not much more satisfying to see his smile when he knows someone cares?"

Thor shook his head, getting the ringing out of his ears. Being a man who suffered constant exposure to the cry of thunder, he wasn't unused to volume, but the sounds were two different things.

"Ah ha, I suppose I do have to take you a bit more seriously," Thor said, starting to grin.

Starfire was hit by the Starbolts but was able to successfully block the shots from harming her any more than it could have.

"You think you are still a normal citizen when some old man gave you my sister's powers?" Starfire threw her boast back at her. "You are now just as normal as I am."

Starfire got into a fighting stance, as if she was pulling off the kid gloves, her eyes glowing in readiness now.

"That's right." Fakefire said, grinning as she settled down. "The playing field has been levelled. And once I defeat you... that old man's going to give me your powers. And then I'll rule this city!" She clenched her fists, bringing them down on the ground, creating cracks on the concrete which travelled towards Starfire, before exploding in a blast of energy.

Talon did not cease her supersonic shrieks, and once she got close enough to Thor, attempted to grab him by his head with her sharpened talons.

Starfire quickly flew up into the air to avoid the blast and then threw her own Starbolt barrage at the Fakefire.

Pulson Girl didn't know what shocked her more- that She-Hulk had come up with a good-sounding plan, or that she had actually congratulated her for once! Huh. Maybe Robbie was right and being part of a team had gotten them to respect each other better.

"Uh, yeah well, let's hurry and put that plan into motion, we might not have much time. But let's be careful, in case Majestros *wanted* us to go there all along."

Thor honestly let her get into grappling range with the Strongest Man In Asgard.

He wasn't Hercules, no, but still.

Feeling a little deaf, and a bit like he was going to feel headache-y without the joyful blur that lead to a good hangover, Thor was still relishing battle. Mjolnir dropped and he made to grab her wrists, pulling her forward (downward too, if she were flying). He gave her his head, he gave it right to her face.

What he shot for was this: He headbutted the woman, throwing his head down as much as forward, dragging his temple down her face, past her chin. He snapped back, driving the back of his head against her chin.

"So you take advantage of other peoples' misery," Wolverine responded. "Drug dealers and pimps use that strategy all the time. Your product is the only thing that stands out."

Majestic shook Pulson Girl's hand gingerly. "That was very clever, S....Pulson Girl." He said, smiling, almost saying her secret identity, before remembering that such a thing would be error. Then, he looked around their group, including the Renegades. "Now, who cannot fly? I believe I can carry....most of you." In truth, he could probably carry the secret base itself, but it was sinful to brag.

Zamaron

Meanwhile in another place far away in space.

Queen Aga'po of the Zamarons is seen kneeling at the ground on a distant planet, she is crying and her hands are upwards as she is seen holding a violet sapphire cristal, around her the other zamarons are also seeing kneeling around her.

"Sisters we have long endured the pains of our love, we have seen entire civilizations turn into dust and planets die due to our inaction. Our love for the universe has brought us great pain to our hearts and now it has taken the life of our beloved sister. It's time we act and we keep them safe. They were foolish to think that their lack of emotions and mere will-power would keep them away from harm, but their arrogance has only brought us closer to the blackest night. Have we not seen them fail and destroy themselves by their own free will? wasn't it the reason the starchild was left alone in the universe, denied of the chance of ever being loved?. Their freedom has always been our true enemy, only our love will protect them from the oncoming darkness, only love has the power to save them for love conquers all. "

Queen aga'po chants in an alien language as she holds the sapphire and uses her violet power to make her hands glow while the violet sapphire gets partially corrupted inside with a purple tint.

"Choose that whom with it's thirst and capacity of love shall become the next champion of love"

Suddenly the sapphire glowed a bright purple light as it leaves Agapo's hands and goes into space to a place unknown....

So, we have two people. Even better. It helps to get a sense of scale with these things.

I zero in on their heartbeats, matching it to the ventilation plan our ninja friend beamed me. Lines and angles draw themselves across my radar-image. The wireframe skeleton of the piping slots in on the top. Despite my blindness, I'm a very visual thinker.

So, distances all worked out. Double-check the street, find the handholds...

"Don't worry," I smile, addressing the ninja. "I'll know where they are. You said you were going in first, right? I'll keep you posted."

A thought hits me.

"By the way, I still don't know your name. I don't mean to sound rude, but mind-messaging someone I can't even address properly might prove a bit awkward. Just a tad."

"I'm gonna pass on the flying, hun." She-Hulk said, smiling at the Renegades' truck. "I'm way too into the idea of busting into their base with that thing to just let it go. Pulson Girl, wanna come with me? Or do you want to stay behind for comm—"

She-Hulk snapped her fingers. "Communication! That's it!" She reached into her back pocket, pulling out the small black communicator the Flash had given to them on the previous day. Putting it on her ear, she nodded to the others. "Let's see if these work here... and maybe we can contact the Flash. Hey, Speedy! Come in!"

Rural Falls

The Renegades shot wary glares at Majestic, and Trixster even puffed up his chest and said "we have our own method of flying, thanks" with a very finite tone. The only one who didn't react was Commander Cold, who lowered his voice just a little as the other Renegades got to work on pulling the cloth covering the monster truck that She-Hulk had asked for. "Understand, we've been fighting them for a long time. And you look a lot like..." He didn't finish the sentence, instead just nodding towards Majestros, who was sitting on his chair, arms crossed, glaring at Majestic.

There was nothing on the other end of the communicator... for a short while. Then, a meek voice, which She-Hulk would find similar to Blackfire's, came through. " H-h-hello? "

Jump City

"Am I supposed to be offended by that statement?" The old man asked, before shrugging. "I suppose I should. Tut tut!" He yelled, raising his cane, a bolt of blue energy shooting from the tip, aimed right at Wolverine's chest. But right after the words 'tut tut' were spoken, Fakefire turned around, flying down to avoid Starfire's barrage, and then flew towards Wolverine's back, aiming to tackle him and send him closer to the old man.

Talon was hit with the one-two combinations, the clunk being loud enough that whoever was watching the fight surely winced at this sight. The winged girl let go, her body going limp, a sign that she had been knocked out... but with the last of her strengths, she dug her nails into Thor's arm and raised her head, sending the strongest supersonic shriek aimed right at the god's face, hoping that would be enough to knock him out as well.

Thor was down on one knees, supporting himself on Mjolnir, his free hand clutching the side of his head. Blood poured from there, presumably from his ears.

The sound in his ears was less a ringing and more of a continued screaming. One eye, same side, shut tight, his teeth gritting.

Ouch! That hurt. But he still relished it.
