Justice Avengers: Jump City at Dusk

"None taken." Majestic said, still scowling at Majestros. "I am nothing like him."

Rural Falls

"Every second you waste taunting me is an extra second of pain your friends will endure." Majestros said, glaring down at Pulson Girl. "And stop with the winking."

"Maybe some sort of loophole?" Commander Cold whispered to the group. "Although... yep, it's arm wrestling. There are no rules. I think I'm taking this too seriously."

Jump City

"The g-guy with the claws is right!" The wheather girl said, as Blackfire melted the snowballs to help Thor back up on his feet. "There's an old guy, calls himself R-Ragtag... he was on one of those docks, where the Big Bang happened... offering p-people powers... I saw him giving some guy the ability to turn into a mish-mash of animals, s-so I jumped in! H-he had someone with him, but I don't remember how he looked!"

"Shulkie, dear" Pulson Girl said to Jade Amazon, smiling wickedly, "You should know by now, I always have a plan." Then, returning to Majestros' cage, she snorted "Are we doing this, or not?"

"If you are ready to lose." Majestros said, walking over to the little table with the two chairs on the cell, as Commander Cold carefully opened it so only Pulson Girl could go in. Majestros kept his word, staying inside, his normal arm on top of the table, waiting for his opponent.

"Thank you," Starfire looked over at Blackfire, letting go of Weather Girl. "I... do not believe you have committed a crime, so that means we let you go."

"I believe all of us except Blackfire know where those docks are," Starfire said to Wolverine and Thor.

"That definitely narrows it down a lot," Wolverine said. "Alright, let's move - " A beat. "Wait, how do you know where she was talking about?" he asked Starfire.

"It's a whole village, princess, by a body of water," Thor said, dusting snow off his body, after a nod to Blackfire, "Not like in space where they just build, oh, one great big space port per planet.

"I think it's something to do with gravity."

Still smiling, and apparently unworried, Pulson Girl stepped into the prison and sat opposite Majestros. She rested her arm on the table and clasped his hand. Her body began to glow with a blue energy field as she powered up. "Anytime, buster."

(Note: The trick here is that Pulson Girl is making it look like she's going to use her super-strength. She's not. She's going to use her space-warping abilities so that Majestro's arm will move in the opposite direction! The harder he pushes the harder he will beat himself! )

"You believe an event as big as that would not be on every news channel?" Starfire retorted to Wolverine. "I have been keeping up with your culture since I crashed here, you know."

"Oh, okay," Wolverine said. "Actually thought for a moment that you might have actually followed me back when it happened that night."

As Psylocke leafed through the brainwaves of the many minds within, she found herself sifting her way through a lot of fear, curiosity and concentration- most likely from Hammond's mutated workforce. Soon, however, she found a couple of blips in the pattern. The first seemed to be Hammond: it certainly had the same undercurrent of annoyance. But there was something less human about it, more primal, and even a bit more hungry. The second blip she felt was another undercurrent of agitation, mixed with boredom, and brief images appeared of the pages in the Wall Street Journal.

"Right. While she does that, I've got a plan." She-Hulk turned, looking down at Commander Cold. "I'm gonna need you to track those heat signals and triangulate a location. Do you have any weapons or vehicles? Because we are storming the Ultimate Syndicate."

Rural Falls

Majestros put his hands on the table, smirking as he prepared his non-mechanical arm. Clasping Pulson Girl's arm, he glared down at her. "I am willing to give you one last chance. If you give up now, I will find a less painful future for you and your teammates."

"We've got one of those!" Commander Cold said, pointing towards an area of the cave where a big truck was covered in tarps. "We haven't used it in a while, not much use when you've got Majestros flying around."

Jump City

"Wait, you're letting me go?" Wheather Girl said, smiling. "Thank you, thank you, t—" THUNK. The others watched as Wheather Girl fell unconscious due to being hit in the back of the head by Blackfire.

"Not a wise choice, sister. What if she were to return, re-gain her powers and cause more possible havoc?" Blackfire said, shaking her head. "Before we depart, let us create a plan of attack. Oaf," She pointed at Thor. "You wave that thing around and scare people. Logan, you growl, make that cigar chomping face you enjoy doing oh so much. And sister? I guess you can watch as I show you all how to really take care of crime."

"Fine, sister," Starfire crossed her arms and looked unhappy, but did not respond otherwise.

"I don't chomp cigars," Wolverine said to Blackfire. "Its an occasional thing! But everything after Thor is stupid. Once we get to the dock, we'll split up. Thor will fly up and start creating storm clouds to scare people and possibly flush out any hostiles while acting like our eye in the sky. You, Star, and I will explore the docks on the ground and find the old geezer. Our priority is capturing him, and if any of us get overwhelmed, Thor will come down and help out.

"Now let's roll out!" The former X-Man than went over to his bike and started it up.

Pulson Girl laughed sarcastically at Majestros. "YOU, giving out second chances? Admit it, you are just afraid of losing!" she teased. Then she clasped his hand and said, "Let's get this over with!" (while secretly hoping her plan worked!)

"I hope there's a real challenge there," Thor said idly, choosing to be dumb(er) rather than take offense to everyone treating him like he was.

Starfire smirked as Wolverine detailed his plan, "That seems reasonable enough, Wolverine."

"That seems useful." She-Hulk said, grinning. "Alright, boys, here's the problem. After our girl in there finishes wiping the floor with Majestros, we'll take the truck and we'll drive it right into the Ultimate Syndicate's base. I'll punch everyone, you," She pointed at Majestic. "Can do the same, and you," She pointed at Impulse. "Can do the same. Except faster. After that, we'll get the Flash, get the mirror, and get out of this bizarro Jump City."

Rural Falls

"Do not tempt fate, you foolish girl!" Majestros roared as he put all of his strength on Pulson Girl's hand, grinning as he felt like the battle had already been won... but his grin immediately disappeared as he realized his hand was getting closer and closer to the table the more strength he put on it. Before he touched the table, he stopped pushing it altogether, glaring down at the girl. "An admirable trick. But if you attempt to push down my hand now and secure your victory... you will lose." He smirked. "It seems like now, the only winning move is not to play."

Jump City

Blackfire couldn't help but scowl when Wolverine overrode her suggestions. "I look forward to seeing this plan failing miserably." She told him, bluntly, as she flew ahead of the group.

The trip to the docks wasn't that troubling, but when they got there, the group immediately got to see the extent of the damage this Ragtag was throwing on the city. There was a crowd of people, from all different parts of the city, all of them lining up. Poor, rich, old, new, all of them looked thrilled as they waited around empty crates to get their chance to step into a container being taken care of by a clearly mutated girl.◊

When the shadows of the heroes flew over the group, the people began to disperse, apart from a few teens who ran up to the girl, waving their arms angrily. The girl, on the other hand, just smirked and stepped aside, so an old man◊ could step out of the container.

"Hah! This is our enemy?" Blackfire said, crossing her arms. "Allow me to ignore your plan, Logan. It's a clear waste of time." With her eyes glowing, the alien charged towards the old man, concentrating beams on her hand...

... before a flash of yellow light covered the area, and she fell to the ground, hitting a few crates. "What the?!" She yelled as she stood up, trying to shoot some of her bolts, yet nothing happened. And when she tried to fly, she fell flat on her face. "What have you done?!"

"These gifts are wasted on the young..." The old man mulled as he touched a young, blonde girl on the head, and she soon started flying, grinning as her eyes glew green, just like Blackfire's. As she started firing bolts upon both Blackfire and Starfire, the winged girl took flight, heading towards Thor, and the old man just smiled, holding onto his cane.

"Get behind me, sister!" Starfire said as she began blasting the one who had been given her sister's powers, trying to either deflect her starbolt or to knock the fake Tamaranean out with Starfire's own starbolts. Starfire knew that fighting someone who had the powers of a Tamaranean, especially one of the royal family was going to be difficult, but then she is experience with her powers and this girl had only just gotten hers. She just had to be wary should the old man use another move like he had done.

Pulson Girl's response was just a wide grin.

Sure, if she, too, pushed while her space-warping field was on, then she would in fact, be *pulling backwards*, not forward.

The key part being 'while it was on'.

In the blink of an eye, she shut down the field, and normal physics instantly reset themselves. She then pushed against Majestros' hand with all her own superhuman strength. Normally, she could barely make him budge, and that was still the case- except now, that was all she needed to do, and in his hubris, he hadn't realized this.

"Ah," Thor watched the proceedings with Blackfire essentially getting her powers stolen, "That's interesting. I guess I should stay the Hel away from him then, right?"

He glanced at the bird woman flying towards him and unhooked Mjolnir, "You had better be worth my time, young lady."

They arrived at the docks, only to find a rather large crowd seemingly waiting for something. This really cuts down on searching him out, Wolverine thought.

Then more unexpectedly the old man himself showed up to face them, along with some bird lady. Underneath the smells of falcons, eagles, and a hint of chicken, was a scent he recognized as belonging to Ebon......

Blackfire, predictably, went in for the attack first. Apparently as well as granting powers, Ragtag had the ability to steal powers as well. The fact that Blackfire was completely neutered suggested the royal family were mutant Tamarans or something. Logistics later, the former X-Man then concentrated on Ragtag as the bird girl went after Thor*

"Just to let you know......" *shnkt* "I got no problem with hitting old men," he warned. Wolverine went into a fighting stance and decided to go into a staring contest with the old man right now. He waited for Ragtag to make the first move, not wanting to lose his healing factor just as quickly as Blackfire lost her powers.....

A pause from Psylocke. "He has a visitor," she relayed to Daredevil and the Black Panther. Possibly the same man from AIM that he had been talking to the first time I scouted his lab, if Hammond's agitation is anything to go by. To make sure, she passed over the visitor's mind again, checking what his previous encounter with Hammond was.

The more practical side of her was telling her to call the infiltration off; another person added several new and unpredictable variables to the plan, which could mean injury to Hammond's captives or to her and her current allies. Now that she had two of Jump City's heroes alongside her, however, she imagined they wouldn't be as receptive to simply walking away after finding out what was going on inside under everyone's noses.
