Justice Avengers: Jump City at Dusk

"I can see just fine." Majestic snapped back, his eyes flashing with the white light to show just that. "I see your heart is black, and your soul is rotten. And, unlike you, I have both my arms." Was that...a quip? He was pretty sure it was.

Majestros' smile disappeared in an instant. "You're treading on thin ice. Do you really want to anger the one who holds the answer to all these burning questions in your head?"

Thor swung Mjolnir experimentally. He looked at it quizzically. After a bit, the spinning stopped and he stared.

"What if... what if I spinned it... the other way?

He did so and he was pleased.

"Okay, I think I'm on to something here."

A blast hit Thor's back. "Get on with it!" Starfire said, frustrated about him taking too long.

"Damnit, woman! Gimme just a second to think!" Thor jammed his finger at the sky, "This is a little hard for me!"

He swung Mjolnir and sent himself skyward, dragging himself toward the approximate epicenter of where the storm's were gathering.

"So, if you guy's are so superior to us, why not just tell us where the Flash is being kept? I mean, the sooner you tell us the sooner we make a rescue attempt, and the sooner we do that, presuming you actually are better then us, the sooner we get our ass kicked and your little boy band set's you free."

Bart said to Majestros with a smile.

"I mean, the only reason you wouldn't tell us where he is if you were scared. I mean, I guess I can't blame you, I saw you guy's fight earlier and it was pretty pathetic. You couldn't even hit me when I was literally standing on your head."

Black Panther crouched down in some foliage.

"Go on," he responded telepathically.

I'm blind, so I can't see. Seems like a rule anyone with a brain in their head would be able to figure out, doesn't it?

Well, turns out it's not always true. Something touches my mind. I feel a prick in my head, then a sudden dizzying rush of sensations I haven't felt in years - and bang. I can see again.

It takes me a few seconds to stop reeling from the color. It takes a few more minutes to match the shapes to actual things. There's sound, but no smell or taste, so the experience is like crawling on painkillers, one leg and a broken arm. No surprise. My memories of real vision are two decades old. But in the end, I manage to pick out a few things.

Hammond is capturing scientists, genetically altering them and forcing them to work for him. His base of operations is that lovely house across the road. Also, he's been trying to cuddle up to A.I.M.. The whole thing is so many shades of illegal it's not even funny.

The images flicker off and I'm back in my color-free world of senses and shapes. Frankly, I'm relieved.

"Well. I can't say I got all of that, but I'd be kicking myself for quite a while if I didn't do anything about it. Gathering evidence? Now that's something I can get behind. Count me in."

I'm about to jump off the ledge in a suitably dramatic fashion when my radar pings. The Black Panther's down below, but he isn't moving - almost like he's waiting for a cue. Probably our telepathic ninja friend. I decide to wait.

"Name's Daredevil, by the way," I add as a convenient aside. When else will I get the chance?

Majestic flexed his fingers, taking a few long, slow breaths, trying to calm himself. As much as Majestros repulsed him, he was Majestic's only chance to find any answers.

"The shi-" He caught himself, and fixed his voice. "We must have come to Earth in ships. Did you...ever find yours?"

Thor rose higher in the air, level with the coming storm, swinging his hammer clockwise.

"Do you think you can do this?" He asked Mjolnir.

The Hammer Of Thor answered by exerting its power upon the weather, working to repel the clouds.

There was a bit of a pause on Psylocke's end when Daredevil mentioned 'not getting all of it'. It seemed she paid it no attention afterward, though, as she continued to explain her course of action to both of them telepathically. "I'll head in first. Disable the field outside - and power to a section of the facility, including security - to distract those inside. Should have roughly 15 minutes after that to enter, find evidence, and leave." At those words, her right hand flicked outward, revealing a flash drive in between her fingers, which she stowed away just as discreetly.

"Archives are in the middlemost floor; use elevator shaft and ventilation to get there." She then sent another set of images: this time, they were the layout of the most important hallways and shafts leading to the archive room terminals, as well as the cameras lining said pathway. She also seemed to include the length and width of these hallways and shafts by number of paces each. Ostensibly intended to allow her (now them) to move through those areas in total darkness, nonetheless Daredevil might find this less-visual information to be much more appropriate to him.

Black Panther stroked his chin, thinking.

"'You can see who is inside, yes?" he thought. "'Is Hammond in there?"

"Majestic." She-Hulk attempted to pull her teammate away from the evil clone, glaring at him. "You know this guy is only going to try and rile you up, hun. Or he might end up lying to you and making you do something you'll regret later."

Jump City

The storm started clearing up, thankfully. But it seemed like it still had one last card up its sleeve. Right behind Thor, one big cloud spewed up its products before dividing into smaller clouds and disappearing into the now clear sky. Three giant snowballs, each the size of a mini-van, flew towards the Thunder God, with the intent of knocking him down.

"Well, the buffoon can do that, at least." Blackfire said, crossing her arm. "So who did this, sister? Any idea, or shall we... investigate?"

Rural Falls

"Maybe I'm not telling you little worms what you want to know because my teammates are already on their way." Majestros smiled. "Or maybe I am just bluffing. Fine. You wish to know the truth of your friend's demise? I will tell you where he is and what the Ultimate Syndicate plans to do with him. I will even tell you how to escape this reality— I have no use for their plans, anyway. Of course, I will do all of this with one condition."

He raised a finger, poking the glass. "To obtain all of this information, one of you must win against me in one of this planet's ways of solving conflicts... something you people call arm wrestling. If your contestant wins, I will divulge the information. If your contestant loses... then I'll keep him inside this cage as the Ultimate Syndicate destroys or imprisons all of you, and this contestant will become my eternal servant." He leaned back, smiling. "I would choose quickly, if I were you."

Majestic was used to contests of strength. Usually, for him, however, it was uprooting stumps or carrying livestock. Or splitting boulders with his head. This was new to him, however. He pulled She-Hulk (carefully) by the arm, out of Majestros' line of sight, with their backs to him.

"What is arm wrestling?"

"Uhm, it's like... well, you know, it's easy, all you gotta do is take your arm, and you take mine-" She-Hulk said, trying to demonstrate it by accidentally wrapping her arm around Majestic's. "Okay, not like that— right, listen, you just take my hand, and you squeeze it as hard as possible, and then you gotta throw me down. See? Easy!"

Majestic's face was red throughout She-Hulk's attempted demonstration, but when she was finished, he nodded. "I'll do it." He said,voice still barely above a whisper. "With all due respect, I am stronger. And...if I fail..." he lingered on that thought. "Better I than you."

"Hold up there— feel like I'm saying that too much." She-Hulk said, shaking her head. "He's counting on you going in there... in fact, he probably knows something, some secret weapon he'll use to win, hun! No, we need to throw in our secret weapon, someone so improbable, it'll work!" She said, glancing at Impulse and Pultron Girl.

Majestic looked at Impulse, then back at She-Hulk, silent, with one eyebrow raised.

No, Psylocke couldn't see through walls. She didn't correct the Black Panther, however; misinformation about her abilities - even among potential allies - could be useful in the future. Instead, she focused on Hammond's house, telepathically searching for the man's thoughts to find out if he was home tonight.

Pulson Girl got the meaning of She-Hulk's stare; she tapped her chin a moment, as if deep in thought, then, smiled wickedly and came closer to Majestros' cage, then said: "Let's see if I got this right: if I best you at arm wrestling, you'll tell us what we want?Ok, I'll take that bet, big boy. That is, unless you're afraid of being beaten by a little girl..." *wink*

"Both of the guys I fought mentioned something about an old man granting them their powers," Wolverine said to Blackfire. "We need to ask one of these temp-supers about where to find this geezer and go from there."

The swinging slowed down and Thor looked half-hopeful, half-skeptical, at the sky, "Ah, well, that worked out well e-"

That when a giant snowball hit him, sending him hurdling toward the ground. He stopped some dozen or so yards before he hit, having grasped the ball now, holding it back with both arms. Looking for a deserted spot, he dumped the ball of snow on the ground.

"That was o-"

The next snowball plowed him into the ground.

"We still have Weather Girl here," Starfire said to Blackfire and Wolverine, looking at Weather Girl who was still held in Starfire's grasp. "So tell us, where did you get these powers and from whom?"

"Wait, Pulson Girl. You... you actually got a trick up your sleeve, right?" She-Hulk asked, pulling her away from the window separating them and Majestros. "Because eternal slavery to that guy over there doesn't sound like buckets of fun." She glanced at Majestic. "No offense."
