Series/Heroes had a similar plot point, where Claire's blood could heal other people, but couldn't cure cancer, since the tumor is living tissue, and would (if anything) grow faster if the body's healing ability was jacked up. Although, even if vampire blood can't cure Liz's cancer, I don't see why turning her into a vampire wouldn't be an option.

I'm really hoping Liz pulls through somehow. Not only is she great, but she's also the last living, non-deadbeat parent on the show.

Also, am I the only one who's wondering if Esther gets a Sire Bond to Klaus? Just because it would be hilarious

Welp, that was a disappointing 'ending' for Mikael. I expected a more...combat-related defeat.

So Finncent is using Papa Tunde's channeling spell, minus the killing.

So, if Freya is locked in a casket in that boarding house prison, then Daliah most likely isn't too far away. I would like to assume that Freya is benevolent, but 1000 years with Daliah (or less, depending on the exact circumstances of her being locked up) don't exactly bode well for someone's psyche.

Remember when subduing a powerful old Vampire was supposed to be a rare occurence and a big deal? Now every second Witch on this show can bitchslap an Original with ease.

Cassie looks...worse off since we last saw her.

Who says Mikael is dead? I fully expect him to bounce back from that once Finn gets his power battery taken away from him. Same for Esther.

I know Mikael's not dead. That's why I said 'ending' and 'defeat'. Besides, the only things that can kill an Original are the White Oak Stake and the now-nonexistent Mystic Falls anti-Magic barrier.

I like how The Originals has characters that serve similar roles to the ones on TVD but are still unique in their own way. Klaus and Elijah are obvious as counterparts to Damon and Stefan respectively (the revelation of Elijah's darker nature is even similar to what we learned about Stefan in season 2 of TVD). But let's go deeper:

Davina/Bonnie - Young and inexperienced witches who are still extremely powerful. Have tension with the 'bad brother' (Klaus/Damon). Are primarily motivated by love for friends which can lead to some poor choices. Both have died and been resurrected.

Cami/Matt - Token normal. Lost family members to supernatural forces (Matt's sister and Cami's brother and uncle). Blonde. Had romance/sexual tension with an Original.

Gia/Caroline - Newbie vampire. Trained by the 'good brother'.

Hayley/Elena - Romance with vampires. Gained vampire abilities (Hayley's is an odd example since was a werewolf already).

Kerian/Alaric - Father figures to a female character. Lost loved ones to supernatural events.

Well seems like my Transition suspicion was true after all.

And goodbye Luke. I actually liked you. Maybe Kai will now be the token gay, absorbing it after the Merge.

Is Jo going to amount to anything this season?

Can't they just break/amputate Kai's legs or something? Actually, now that the Merge is done, can't they just kill him and be done with it? Surely even Luke would rather die than be part of Kai, right?

And I just realised I almost totally forgot about Bonnie's existence.

Will Caroline ever catch a break?

Remind me, were Cloaking Spells always so easy to spam, or is it just a Parker Family specialty? Cos if it really was so easy to spam, this would have come in handy a lot earlier in the series.

Its a Gemini Coven thing. And there is *probably* some rule that means the one who merged has to have twins to merge yet again or the whole Coven dies to prevent the obvious "Kill Kai" solution.

Mark my words, Kai will probably end by ANOTHER merge with Jo, making Luke's sacrifice senseless.

Edit: On a scale from 0 to 10 how mean am I for telling a friend who's not up to date that I ship Kai/Luke and that it is OTP as of last episode?

It might be neat if Kai realizes he's absorbed some of Luke's affection for other people, and he spends the rest of the season trying to get it the hell out. Possibly by becoming a vampire, just so he can do the "turn off your humanity" thing.

RIP Finn. He died of monologuing.

The Originals Season 2 Episode 13

• Kol has reconciled with his family
• Finn died due to monologuing and trying to shit-talk his questionably-stable brother Elijah AFTER having been Brought Down to Normal (for a Witch). Nice tactic by Elijah: stall and let the gas permeate the house, remove Daylight Ring and expose himself to the sun, burn, trigger an explosion, exploiting his Original Immortality
• Little Hope Mikaelson saves Cammi by shutting down her car before they get too close to the house, using her Witch powers.
• Freya establishes herself 'on Finn's side', that is, trying to kill Hope to prevent Daliah (who is still alive) from coming after them. Her backstory: 'cursed' to slumber for a century and awaken for only one year before the cycle resumes.

I am going to miss Finn's ham, though. Wonder if they managed to bring the 'no bodyjumps for you' spell through before it happened. Or Deus Ex Freyja.

This Enzo shit seems contrived. Why is Matt so scared? I mean, all he has to do is ask, and four Vampires (Stefan, Damon, Elena, Caroline), 2 Witches (Liv, Jo, 3 if/when Bonnie returns), and Alaric will help him out and deal with Enzo.

With the destruction of the Other Side, does that mean the Gilbert Rings are now useless?

You're right about Matt being stupid (unless he's secretly been conspiring with Stefan this whole time). However, I buy this behavior from Enzo: he spent sixty years with nothing keeping him going but dreams of revenge. Now that that's done, he needs a new vendetta to give his life some sort of purpose.

So Kai is now basically Witch Damon? Now we only need Werewolf Daon and then they can make a living-together sitcom.

Also, anyone else saw the Mom thing coming mid episode?

Yeah, saw the Mom thing coming, but was surprised by Caroline turning off her humanity; I picked up on some of the hints, but I was actually expecting a suicide attempt.

Sociopath Caroline is...interesting.
