To be fair. I will reiterate. The conference was not for our benefit, it was for the benefit of the stockholders.

I think it was more for the developers than stockholders anyways. It probably dropped because they didn't show the console.

It also dropped because they didn't show the price. Why develop for a console that nobody will buy?

I heard something about some Australian distributer saying it'd start at $900, but I doubt that. Not even Sony is that deluded.

Well, it could be that expensive in Australia, AKA the land where consumers are perennially screwed over.

Not as much as Brazil. Extra Credits released a video about the problems and possibilities of games in Brazil, and I learned that games there which would cost here $60 USD can cost upwards of $120 USD. On the other hand, you can still get a sega genesis, they're the only country still making them.

Didn't Brazil end up being the last major country to get the PS 2?

Wonder if I can get a new copy of M.U.S.H.A. down there too.

Stock trader's wisdom: "Buy on the rumour, sell on the news". I don't understand the meaning of the quote, but I think I've come to the conclusion that the daily ups and downs of the stock market are not the actions of rational beings, but largely of emotionaly-driven speculators and busy day traders. Trends, for the most part, are what mater.

Also, I think those expecting to be wowed by this generation of consoles are going to be disappointed. The age of drastic leaps in graphics power are behind us for a while, but the hardware cycle has to advance, not least because having to develop to the limits of 6+ year old hardware is problematic, and the Big 3 have to come up with other ways to make their hardware sound desirable. Latching on to current buzzwordy trends...a few actually cool but many of limited use...is the most obvious way to do so.
