The second and third panels could work, save us getting a better suggestion.

I don't like it. The art is just talking heads.

That's a fair point, but given the nature of this trope, we're gonna be hard-pressed to avoid that.

A couple more for Bart and we can run with it.

Bart looks good to me.

As long as it looks good at wiki size, I like it.

The Bart image works really well.

Technically, "I didn't do it" just says that you yourself did not do it. It doesn't blame anyone else, as required by the trope.

I don't suppose anyone is concerned that the Simpsons image could cause Trope Decay...?

Okay, in light of I'm gonna have to take another look at the original suggestion when I get a chance...I've been burned way too many times by not paying enough attention to the trope.

Now that I've refreshed myself on the OP, I prefer it to the Bart pic.

How about panels 1 and 3?

I don't think the Stone Soup example works without all three panels, and the Bart example is misleading. I really don't like either of them.

The first one works. The second is kind of busy, and the third works like the first, but it more boring.

And I'm reminded of my brother. "It jumped!" Whenever he spills something.

I like 1 or 3.

1 reminds me of a quote from a source I don't remember... "He asked which of them was responsible, and without hesitation they told him."

Either 1 or 3 are alright, but just alright...about the same as the Bart pic, and I prefer that one to those.

I think as #16 says, the Bart one is good, but misses the mark a little bit. The pointy fingers illustrate the trope better, and without words to boot.
