The next entry in the Xeno franchise!

New trailer:

The X makes it clear it's a new entry but we don't know much beyond what's in the trailer.

edit: Two things

1. The guy at the end looks like Shulk.

2. The (presumably) main character makes me think of Zack Fair.

Xeno's more of a metaseries than a franchise, though.

Whatever. I knew series wasn't the right term since none of the games are directly connected. I just called it a franchise because that's the best term I knew for various properties that are associated with each other but not necessarily part of the same series.

Did Blade even have a connection to Gears and Saga beyond the Xeno title?

All I have to say is that music is epic.

Xenogears was episode 5 in a series that never happened. Xenosaga was supposed to be a redo of the series from the start, but all we got was episode 1 (first scene of the trilogy in Africa) and an episode two that went right off the rails.

Xenoblade started out as Monado and Nintendo renamed it.

Yeah. I hope there's some variety in what they transform into.

Roadsters, Jet-planes and the like.

If you're going to do Transforming Mecha, you gotta think big.

Another pretty swordsman, it sticks to his back too! I am at a loss for words.

If this is related to Xenoblade, you think we'll see the other two gods too?

This is more of a WMG than anything else, but in the scene where "the man who would become Zansa" and the "woman who would become Mayneth" activated the satellite thing, there were 2 other people there with them.

To be fair, the characters being controlled weren't the blonde dude whose face was shown.

I assumed they just died because those two were actually physically touching the console at the time and they weren't.

Yep, Monolith Soft is Nintendo's.

By the way, the trailer looks awesome. I'm sure they'll deliver once again like they did with Xenoblade.

Xenoblade and this new one are.

Xenogears was PS 1, and Xenosaga was PS 2.

I wonder what weird Gnostic elements they'll stick in this one.

Monolith Soft is now owned by Nintendo so all future Xeno games are Nintendo exclusive.

Makes me wonder if they'll do a Xenosaga HD collection or something.

The fact that Nintendo owns Monolith completely pretty much ensures we'll never see the end of Xenosaga.

Well, Xenosaga is the property of Namco Bandai, not Sony, so an HD collection isn't completely out of the realm of possibility.

Actually, it wouldn't be anyway.

I guess I mean a sequel isn't out of the realm of possibility. I'm just glad Baten Kaitos 3 can still happen.

Nintendo buying Monolith was one of the best decisions they've ever made imo.

Yeah.

They did partner with Namco to make Smash 4. Maybe they can work something out to get Xenosaga re-released.

Namco is just there for the manpower. Neither Smash Melee or Smash Brawl were completely Nintendo either; they outsourced the work to some not well-known Japanese companies.
