Why do we have to raise the stakes again? It might be a good idea to try and lower them a bit and not have us be some kind of 'Chosen One'.
Saving the world seems like standard fair in the Elder Scrolls series. the stakes aren't being raised, it's just another day in Nirn.

My last word on the subject in the FO 4 thread: The Elder Scrolls is an apocalyptic story. We're not ever going to see the stakes get lower unless they go POST Apocalyptic on it and let us play in the new world. Might happen. Might be nice. It'll be decades before we get there, years at least.
Is it even possible for Nirn to be safe from apocalypses? Isn't it a bunch of different timelines mashed together or something utterly bizarre like that? I definitely remember that without the gods actively working to keep it together, it would all fall apart, which is why the Thalmor trying to kill one of the gods because of racism is such a problem.
EDIT: Speaking of which, there's an obvious world-ending plot. The Thalmor are getting close to their goal, they need to be stopped before they succeed and inadvertently destroy the world.

A more on topic route what do you guys think of the theory that the two verses are linked directly? Namely the fan theory that Elder Scrolls is the distant and magical past of the same world that becomes the Fallout world,
Who watches the watchmen?I like theories like that.
Other way around, its that Nirn is the future.
Little known fact is that TES is actually far scifi, with space travel being its past, and Nirn itself being a giant machine.
Immy: That makes no sense at all. It makes more sense if the magic is the past and something like say a massive cataclysmic event drastically changed the world.
Who watches the watchmen?I think she's joking dude.
I dunno about that. Speculation gets kind of bonkers around here sometimes.

Around the two minute mark is the proof of Imca's correctness. It's also not without precedent. The Lord of the Rings Universe was the same way. The fantasy stuff was actually post-scifi stuff with the high tech mostly happening in the earlier ages before it evolves into magic and disappears from most places. Arthur C. Clarke said it best: Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
While the theory is probably horse dung, it can grow some pretty hilarious flowers.
Yup, I am not joking, elder-scrolls has spaceships in the past and takes place on a machine planet, described as being full of gears and made of swords, that much is CONFIRMED in the lore already.
Hell, the empire even has moon bases.

Well God Damn. That's a twist.
I would like to note that it is hard to actualy find this stuff because it requires reading the ingame books, but TES has a..... ummmm dedicated comunity.
So I was able to find one of the ones refrencing said moon bases
"Imperial Mananauts" has more detail, but I cant find that one online. :/

Bad link for me Immy.
Journey: I actually saw it the other way in a few places. Where basically Elderscrolls hit world devastating magitek or someone diddled the wrong part of reality.
Who watches the watchmen?I just fixed the link when your post went up. >.<
Immy: Lol. It works now thanks. Where did they dredge that up?
Who watches the watchmen? Most of it comes from the in game books IIRC, as well as the lore the devs write.
TES is actualy kinda..... insane if you go digging.
It also makes me sad a lot of times when mods will name there thing one thing, and yet there is an example of it right in the lore they could use as a name instead. >.>
My favriote race mod is guilty of that actualy.
We still don't know if there Akaviri were human or not. There's hints that Akavir only has snake and monkey people
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youNow I am wondering if there is that kind of crazy sit for Fallout from Beth.
Who watches the watchmen?I just got back from Far Harbor, been in the Commonwealth for maybe an in-game week or so, and so far three settlements have come under attack all within a day of each other.
what's going on? I've never been hit like this before? I had to postpone other missions, like synth rescues, to go rescue my settlements?
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youThe settlements won't be attacked unless you talk to Preston or are tuned into Freedom Radio (which includes listening to it on the loudspeaker at the castle).
Also, the game won't give you more than three such quests at a time.
Topping Dragon born will depend where they go next.
Valenwood - avatar of the Hunt? (the Wild Hunt being the major thing and part of the Green Pact... so more nature / druidic abilities?)
Blackmarsh - Prophet of the Hist? Again some connection to the Hist trees - probably more druidic stuff / stealth / guerrilla warfare related?
Elswheyr - The perpetually drunk one - you can only use your powers when completely off your face on Moon Sugar. Ok ok, that was mean. You actually get to RP as a bottle of Moon Sugar.
