[up] Greninja'd me.

Well, you win this time Cassidy ... but I still won the not!Grass/Dark starter thing a while back (even if it may or may not have been with you lol). But now I have to make the choice - Goodra or Dragagle ;_; or get X.

And is anyone else having trouble getting onto the Bulbagarden forums? o_O

"Dragalge is Dragon/Poison"

YES! This is the PokΓ©mon Dragon-type has been waiting for. They think Fairy-type will domiante them, but then this underdog comes and saves the day with Dialga. Praise Arceus!

Dragalge seems a little less appealing real up close like that. And it's Pokedex entry is kind of generic. Maybe it and Jellicent have a competition to see who sinks the most ships.

Anyone know how Skrelp evolves? I heard Clauncher evolves by learning Crabhammer.

Dragon/Poison?

Man this set could be killer

  • Surf/Hydro Pump
  • Dragon Pulse
  • Sludge Bomb
  • filler

Might give Azumarill a hard time.

It's gonna be Sylveon and Gardevoir's go-to move. If there's a physical Fairy move with decent power Azumarill will use it.

I sent the report for the YMMV page in. Can someone do the Headscratchers page? I don't really know what's going on there.

80 power/10 PP/no side effect is a bit underpowered for a 100% accuracy special attack; by comparison Shadow Ball/Energy Ball/Dark Pulse all have 15 PP and at least a 10% chance of something extra, while most other types have a 90 power or stronger move, albeit sometimes poorly distributed like Aura Sphere.

Hopefully this is a sign that Gamefreak realizes they stacked the type chart heavily in favor of Fairy and won't pack it full of Outrage/Draco Meteor style super-moves. Well, not widely distributed ones at least.

[up] Why the need, Pixilate will turn all Normal-type moves into Fairy. Just give them Extremespeed and not even Garchomp cannot deal with them with its high speed.

We don't know who's going to get Pixilate. None of the new fairy types have it from what we've seen so far.

We need to see what gets Pixilate first; Refridgerate ended up being sadly wasted on a special attacker when Ice Beam is already better than every special Normal attack (Hyper Beam sucks, before anyone asks).

Fairy is such a good typing both offensively and defensively that it doesn't need to have both a load of high BST Pokemon *and* high power moves, which is the combination that ended up overpowering Dragon types in generations 4/5. A whole bunch of prexisting 580-600 BST legendaries are candidates for Fairy retconning and I fully expect a number of them to get it, to make up for the relative lack of Fairy legendaries this generation. Forcing them to stick with 80 power moves while handing out stronger ones to a handful of non-legendaries with merely competent stats would be a sign that Gamefreak is learning from past mistakes.

Don't forget that Dark and Steel, types which weren't in Gen I, don't have a lot of high power moves, too (IIRC Crunch and Dark Pulse are tied for strongest Dark move at 80 Power).

I find it hard to believe Aurorus is the only Pokemon getting Refridgerate. And he has to have a 2nd ability for that new item to work.

Remember, the Kalos mons also likely have hidden abilities.

We still don't know how to get Sylveon? I hope we find out soon, I want it! Also Pixilate is going to be absurdly broken if the Pokemon learning it gets moves like Hyper Beam or Double Edge. I wanted a Dragon slayer but this is a little ridiculous.

So Dragalge is Poison/Dragon? Not a bad typing I guess. I'd have preferred if it stayed Poison/Water but it will probably make a good counter to any Fairy Pokemon in the Elite Four. My team is practically going to be built for slaying Dragons. Four out of six get STAB against them.
