Um. They said right when it was announced that it was getting a simultaneous worldwide release in October 2013.

I found them Deerlike.

Most people call them Legendary Beasts.

The only one that vaguely resembles a deer is Virizion. Muskadeers just sounded clever so people started calling them that.

It's like how people call the Johto beasts the 3 legendary dogs, despite Raikou being a sabre toothed tiger.

I thought we settled on "legendary beasts" after a while.

I'm predicting the new Pokedex to be about ... 791. Any takers.

Eh...I kinda doubt they'll add nearly 150 more after Gen V. My guess would be somewhere between 100 and 120 new Pokemon.

People mentioned this already, but there looks like there's a possibility of the starters having a reverse-rock-paper-scissors dynamic with their secondary types. (Water/Psychic, Fire/Dark, Grass/Fighting). The first evolutions seems like they'd fit that theme, since Froakie looks somewhat intellectual, Fennekin looks kinda smug, and Chespin looks athletic.

As far as I care, they don't have to add a lot of new ones. We got plenty of new ones last generation, and as strange as it feels to say this, I'd rather they focus on polishing the game. Porting all the older Pokemon to 3D would be an intense task, so I'd understand if there wasn't a lot of new blood.

So, any chances of Ruby and Sapphire 3DS being apart of gen 6?

I always wanted that to happen, and I can definitely see it. And it means no firefighters, which is good.

As for reverse RPS, Gen IV kinda had that. Blaziken got Fighting type, which smashes the Steel type Empoleon apart. Torterra got Ground, which Earthquakes the Fire type Blaziken into the dust, and Empoleon got Steel which... doesn't do much against Torterra. In fact, he gains a different weakness to Torterra, despite gaining a resistance to Grass.

...anyone else think it odd that Steel isn't supereffective vs Grass? I mean, axes, wood, make it happen.

With old Pokémon returning, I see them also getting new evolution, especially gen V ones.

I basically just guessed that number (forgot which lol) because 100+, plus 30, and I'd stop there but every generation needs like 20 legendaries so voila, 150. lol. Of course, with reappearance of older Gen Pokemon, it'd probably be more like RSE numbers.

I'd imagine there might have been some that didn't make the V cut get in, but I sincerely hope they don't go the IV route and just focus on evolutions.

I think an Eevee is confirmed, but I dunno.

Boredman:People seriously think Fennekin might be Fire/Dark and Froakie Water/Psychic? I thought it looked more like Fennekin is Fire/Psychic, since it is shown using what looks like Confusion in the trailer.

I really hope they don't. Luvdisc and Alomomola are fine separate.

@Fawriel: They already have 3D models for all of the old Pokemon because of Pokedex 3D Pro, which I'd imagine will lighten the burden quite a bit.

That said, I really wouldn't mind if they only added, like, sixty or seventy new Pokemon, but I expect a lot of people would complain if that happened...

I hope that Froakie's final evo is based on a Surinam Toad

I really hope they do that Water/Psychic, Fire/Dark, Grass/Fighting thing. It'd be an awesome twist, and I'd love to have the Starters be more unusual.
