It doesn't detract from the trope. It's not particularly logical to assume they're anything but stepsiblings considering the trope's name. It's not a good illustration, but it's not pull-worthy.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.+1 for Keep Until Better Image Suggested.
"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenNot actively harming the trope, so no pull without a good suggestion.
While I don't like playing bungee jumping on pages (hence I don't agree on "the trope name explains it", especially since you could apply that to just about any JAFAAC image whose page's name doesn't suck), the fact that we had a thread not long ago makes me leery to pull it (even though these people don't resemble each other enough even for siblings)
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe point about that is twofold. One, is there an absolute need to illustrate the stepsiblings part to have the image provide something for the page? Is it a concept so hard to understand that you won't get it otherwise? There are a lot of tropes with names you can't take at face value. This isn't one of them.
Two, JAFAAC isn't by itself pull-worthy, and whether or not the trope name is a good method for making the image better, it still helps. The argument of "the trope name explains it" tends to be "the image doesn't exist in a vacuum" in other words.

The last time we were having this discussion it was only a couple of months ago. Maybe we should close this and add a note by the current image that we know that it's Just A Face And A Caption but that's not enough to pull it. If someone is going to start a discussion they should have an image to suggest.

Clock is set.
Hypothetically, what if you're fine with no image at all? I mean, not every single page needs an image. Why does this one?
Is having an image up that's poor but not terrible worth someone starting an image pickin for this every couple of months?
That's why we have the rule that if a page has had at least 3 threads that haven't resulted in a change or pulling of the pic, any future threads that don't have a concrete suggestion from the get-go will be closed immediately.

Just to ask: does that mean that by three threads, it's assumed that there's no good reason to pull entirely without replacement?
Generally, we only pull without replacement if it does not illustrate the trope at all, it's NSFW, copyrighted, or misleading. Since this pic is none of those, it's not bad enough to pull immediately. While it's not great, nobody has yet to come up with anything better, so up it stays.
Good to know about the rule. We only get to have one more suggestion-less image pickin' here. This is the second time we've done this, right? I don't know how far I'd have to dig to find out how many discussions on this we've had so if anyone remembers it would be helpful.
We've had only one past IP thread on this.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSincere question: so the general rule/tenor of the wiki is that we want a page to have a picture if it's possible? I always thought it was a little looser than that - that not all pages had to have a picture, and that if the picture there wasn't appropriate, it was perfectly fine for it to have none.
That general question is probably better adept for another thread. The stance has been "No page needs an image", but speaking as a bio student ... a picture tells a thousand words.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt's nice if we have a pic for every page, but it's not necessary. The higher priority is to fix problem pics on pages that already have them, with suggesting new pics as a secondary concern. If said fixing means removing a pic and not coming up with a replacement, that's fine. However, replacement pic or no, there has to be a consensus in a thread that a pic is bad enough to pull, otherwise it stays put, with the "pull on sight" criteria overriding that.

Clock's up; locking for inactivity. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
I see "flirty", but I don't see "stepsiblings"
