"critters"?

I'll admit that I haven't got that far into the game, but I am so glad that research carries over across both worlds and characters. My best play so far is 8 days, after which I died by eating monster meat. Yes I knew it was poisonous, but I was at like, 3 hunger in the middle of the woods. Relatedly, I "accidentally" burned down half an island one night as Willow.

Kind of annoyed though at how limited stone is. It took me two islands to make a fire pit, research machine and alchemy machine. I think I'm going to spawn another world; this one is too hard to memorize.

I noticed in the new worlds generated that the world is one big island it seems. However, less walking to find neat things like graveyards. Also, Wendy is a killjoy, barely managing to be The Comically Serious.

I've found two different variations of islands:

1) Several circular islands, linked by thin bridge paths of varying lengths.

2) Several circular islands, which for small sections overlap, thus forming one large non-circular island.

On a different note, I like my newly generated word. It's the overlapping sort, and the islands I've found are as follows: Normal grassy with lots of bees; swamp/forest... I think I saw one pig; quarry/forest, with tallbirds in a grassy bit at the far end.

Rarrgagh. I killed a Tallbird with a Bee Mine right after it killed me.

If you create a new world will you keep your progress from the other world?

Sort of. You keep all your research and research points.

You keep as much progress as you would compared to any other time you're dead.

Gotta say though, digging stuff from graveyard and feeding it to science machine gives you a LOT of knowledge...my current map has a lot of graves in concentrated area...also,the island i'm in has some good mix of stuff...it's mixture of forest and rocky biome, with 3 or so miniswamp (there's a pond too!), and lots of graves concentrated together...also met tallbirds on same island too...no idea why they attack first though...also found a pig house!

The new food system is a bit hard though...

I like pig villages. There'll be a big pig in the middle who gives you gold for rare stuff (the stuff you get from graves)

^ Eh, feeding the pig king with meat/morsel is much cheaper...plus the grave stuff gives much more research point than a single gold (unless the pig king gives more than 8-12 gold per grave stuff that is)

2-8, randomly.

That's still at a loss, so probably not the best idea...

Anyone know where to get reeds? Also tallbird egg gives a LOT of research! (want to hatch it of course, but don't know how, so to save space (it doesn't stack) I fed it for research)

Pretty sure you find reeds in swamps.

So, I was just sitting in my camp for the night and noticed one of my trees grew. I thought I'd better cut it down and get the wood since I'd never seen one that big before. All of a sudden it began moving and murdered me. I had no chance. My spear was ineffective and I couldn't escape due to it being night. On the plus side I finally unlocked Willow.

Oddly, I think the spear is still the best choice then, despite the axe making more sense. I would suggest getting a logsuit before the next time you fight that thing though.

I was wearing a Logsuit but it didn't help that much.

Ah, I assume that pacifies it?

It has about a 1 in 3 chance to pacify.

My longest life so far: 28 days. Died trying to kill a Spider Queen.

I have found my new addiction.

Just unlocked Willow. She's funny, in a Heroic Comedic Sociopath kind of way.

New build is out...and you need to research how to build a shovel now?

This is quite a change. Interesting.

What the-I can't add seed to crock pot anymore?

Also cooked food now only double the base freshness rating...so no more cook when it's red to get full freshness...awww...
