Now I love both Clerks movies, but I have to admit I'm worried about a third.

Thoughts?

Do not want. I have never seen either of the Clerks films so have no attachment. If any film of Smiths is worth pursuing, it is the sequel to "Dogma".

[up]They're both very worth watching I'd say. The first one especially, though the second is far more accessible to a general audience. Also, I can't see how you could possibly make a Dogma sequel—it's pretty open and shut.

I'd heard that Smith was considering making a new live-action Clerks show on HBO or something, but a new movie? Clerks II seemed to put a pretty definitive end on the View Askewniverse movies as a whole, so I don't see how it could be done.

I admit, I would be interested to see how Randall and Dante are handling owning their own business. Still, Clerks II did seem like it provided an adequate amount of closure to all the characters involved, even Jay and Silent Bob.

Smith talked for years about making a Dogma sequel, with the new Last Scion taking the lead role. Then 9/11 came round and shit got real real quick, making his choice of a film that dealt with Islam in any way risking some jihadi blowing himself or herself up in order to kill Smith.

Kevin Smith also joined the outraged Christians' protest against the opening of Dogma, and was even interviewed on live news as their spokesman.

Poor Kevin Smith. He wants to be out of the View Askewniverse so badly, but nobody really cares about him doing anything else.

Didn't Zack & Miri do well, though? And people cared about Cop Out, though that was for a different reason...

I have mixed feelings about this. I would love to see Dante and Randal in the spotlight one last time, but I also love the note Clerks II ended on.

Zach and Miri did poorly, despite generally favorable reviews and being a good movie. I think it was mostly due to the title, honestly. The work itself is really well done.

I like the idea of a movie trilogy that is essentially following the every-man from his origins as a humble clerk to his ending as a humble clerk.

Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?
