ah, Magic world 2 is so much nicer once I disabled farlanders. The wanderers were chewing up all my valuable neutral mob spawns, and Fanmade Enderman were making it impossible to reliably sleep at night, or venture out near twilight because of their apparently near infinite tracking range.

out of curiosity, what mod was it that allowed for the creation of 3x3 hammers and stuff?

trying to see what modpacks have it...

i..dont think magic world 2 does? but since i dont know the name i cant be sure :S

I believe your thinking of tinker's construct. I don't see it in the modlist but you could add it to your pack. Only world gen it adds is in the nether IIRC.

[up][up] Actually, Tinkers doesn't add any worldgen other than ores. All other changes are the companion mod Natura.

so, what was used so we didnt lose our inventory upon death?

/gamerule keepInventory true is what you're thinking of. That won't work without cheats enabled though.

Also, is anyone interested in me hosting a map again?

I would be if there were some way to incentivize community building. I find it's less interesting and fun to have to hike halfway across the world just to get to your neighbor.

if natura is being used, a community hub on the maze of branches on top of a 7x7 layout redwood tree would be awesome enough to attempt =O

...so long as we got like, an elevator going up there first.

was it thaumcraft, the mod with the magic elevators? or ars magicka?

Thaumcraft, for all your magical block needs :3

my only concern with redwoods is they seem a bit small. and we'd need some way to move ore and stuff to a refining center.

the natura redtree is actually pretty damn big.

taller than the clouds, pretty thick (larger than 3x3 iirc) and the leaftop is massive, a maze, and basically provides the base for a twisty multi-level tree-colony.

but we could also have the bad luck to get one that isnt that big...

They are always at least 7x7, I believe.

well with a focus on upward, rather than purely outward sprawl it should work well, perhaps some obligatory housing/workshops clinging to the side of the tree?

A tree base would be quite cool. I have a SSP world I've been working on a bit that I haven't yet built a base on. It would be a good map for that sort of thing.

I'd be down. I've been having a lot of fun in SSP with a space base but a tree-colony sounds hella fun as long as we can have a super-high tech underground area.

I'm thinking of building Nidhogg around the tree. We can finally have an actual Yggdrasil, I guess.

I've been playing on a server with my FFXIV guildmates lately so I probably won't be dropping in to Tropecraft this time.

I've got spring break next week, so I'd be free to play, so long as my computer doesn't kill itself with the pack.

Server will be up in a few hours. For now, here's Tropecraft v3.7. I recommend both installing over Direwolf20_1.6.4 1.0.18 and following the instructions in this thread.

And server is up! PM me if you don't have the IP.

A basecamp has been set up at the foot of the newly-grown redwood tree. It's near spawn in the hilly area.
