The Modded Minecraft Thread

my passive essence generator is operational, a pair of happy little golems gathering my garden to feed my magic.

I'm rapidly running out of thaumcraft research to do though. Maybe I need to look into Ars magica more? I'm not sure. What other avenues of magic are available to me with our modpack?

Don't believe there's any other magic mods installed. Well, xeno's reliquary adds very good magical swag but it doesn't add any new mechanics. I'll be tossing thaumic tinkerer in next time we update and I'm still huntin' for more cool mods.

I'm very barely starting to get the hang of computercraft. I can finally get frames to move side to side and I'm working on getting a machine that can move in every direction. In theory it shouldn't be different from how I got them to move left 'n' right but we'll see.

As far as I can tell from the thread Thaumic Tinkerer is 1.5.2 only.

anyone need a monster spawner? I'm getting into the soul shard business

I know that we already have zombie, skellie (and wither skellie), cow, sheep, and ghast public spawners.

okay, just asking :P

I only know what I've found. I've really got no idea what is on most of the server.

aside from forgotten lore (Read: Golem Swag) I have now researched everything.

I was feeling pretty good about my stuff, but then I went and looked around some more and stumbled into Carbon mantis's stuff.

now it feels like my base is nothing more than a dingy hole-in-the-wall.

Yeah, Carbon's base has that effect on people.

Ah, on that note I offer my apologies for not being on in a few months(?). Been rather busy with work recently.

well my arcane levitator setup is ALMOST ready. the way back down is still a little... underprotected. you only take a heart of fall damage, but still.

just glad you don't take un-falling damage from being smashed into the roof, which is unfortunately the way it works.

This is the problem with living in a Mystic Grove biome. Due to an unfortunate series of events I am currently hiding in a dank hole while a swarm of 20+ witches wait for me outside.

Edit: On the other hand one night with a soul stealer sword got me a tier 4 soul shard.

For some reason the server is lagging to death and needs a restart.

Also saint FOR GOD'S SAKE PLEASE DON'T MAKE SUCH AN INEFFICIENT FPS AND WORLD TICK MURDERING MACHINE AS THAT LAVA PUMP EVER AGAIN

Sorry, I tried to rewire it but the server stopped allowing me to do things in the middle of fixing it. When I tried to use it the levitator toggle wasn't working properly for some reason so I tried to make it work better.

it works perfectly :P

it just takes a second. when the button releases the thing will disable.

Server seems to be down.

The lava pump seemed to be relatively lagless. Render lag is 'nother issue but I didn't have any real problems with it. Now that I know how to make those ages I could just make a new one and fill up a ton of tanks then delete it.

Restarted, server should be up.

The two potential issues I saw with the pump are it not completely draining an area before moving, which could lead to lag from the flowing lava blocks, and the movement mechanism itself which is probably best as computer-controlled. Also saint, assuming you had made sure the entire power station was loaded, I saved the server having to load 22 chunks by replacing the chunk loader with a couple spot loaders and moving a bunch of the engines a couple blocks.

Also, in case anyone was wondering, both XyCraft tanks and tesseracts seem to automatically chunkload the area where they are, so you don't need chunk loaders for them.

my base seems to be chunkloaded, and I am not sure why, seeing as I don't have a chunk loader.

my crystal capacitor keeps charging when I log out, anyways.

Either aura nodes have some weird behavior regarding chunk loading due to their status as externally stored entities or Railcraft multiblocks also load chunks and your rain tank is keeping the area in memory.

Saint's probably just busy and hasn't had time to check the thread or restart it.

So new packs for 1.5.2 are being released! There's an Ultimate type without Gregtech, a super-extra-added-complexity pack with Gregtech, and a Direwolf20 pack based around Forgecraft 2.

If my base wasn't made entirely out of basalt and marble brick I'd say we should update. I wonder if there's any map editors compatible with mods, though... we could remove the various RP machines from the world then replace all basalt and marble with the respective stone blocks from MFR or Railcraft. We could also add Immibis's Microblocks to the pack.
