I really need a tv-trope server to play this on. I am so unmotivated when I play on my own imo. In other news, a ultimate pack might come, which will have all the major mods in it, which is awesome.
A pretty fun guy to be around. You mean a Thaumcraft server? Can we even play Thaumcraft in multiplayer?
Anyway, I would host a server myself, but my rig is not reliable for the task.

It can be ic2 or thaumcraft. The reason thaumcraft 3 took so long was partly because it had to eb remade for multiplayer.
A pretty fun guy to be around.Basically. TC 2 wasn't multiplayer compatible, TC 3 is fully multiplayer compatible.
And I'd like to do a multiplayer server as well, but I can't host. My connection is really hamstrung and I don't know why. Also, I've never successfully hosted a server.
If we get anyone willing to do it, I'm definitely going to sign up. :)
Also, I heard a rumor from the Forge API developers that they're working on a way to make modded-in liquids actually exist in the world. So if you play Forestry, you can have a literal lake of honey. :3

A pretty fun guy to be around. That's different. The developer of buildcraft had to jury-rig his own thing for Oil. This will basically let you go "here's a liquid, it has properties X, Y, Z, and is used in recipes A, B, C, D, in machines, 1, 2, 3, flows at rate Q, and Can/Cannot be made infinite."
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryI'll host a server once a pack with all the mods together gets released.

Isn't Feed The Beast exactly that?
Theres a few modpacks within FTB, currently one for the science mods and another for the magic. Theres also two more big additions, Redpower 2 And Equivalent Exchange 3 still to be released. Once they're here and everything is updated to the same version they'll release an ultimate modpack containing them all.
Thats what I'm waiting for.
Time is a waste of life, life is waste of time. Get wasted all the time and you'll have the time of your life. - Billy Connolly.Swamp, it really does not matter. Mlost people want to play thaumcarft 3, ic2 many people played, its only gregtech thats new, and thaumcraft is much more addictive. Plus other then that, they have all the same mods.

A pretty fun guy to be around.I'm stumped in TC 3. I can't find any new research subject with basic stuff and I have no more un-researched stuff in my Thaumonomicon.
Should I start researching magic and rare stuff?
Yep, there a few neat things in there.
A pretty fun guy to be around.Yes. The grayed out stuff in the thauminomicon is not all there is to research.
If you haven't read it yet, try researching some charcoal.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryAny suggestion?
I guess I could look into magical tallow, maybe those magical stone I guess. Alumentum too.
Is there a difference between coal and charcoal?

Marc, re: going to the End: I vaguely recall hearing that ender pearls (and maybe end stone) are the only source of one of the aspects. Don't know much else though. If you had additional mods installed (the ones I'm thinking of require worldgen so I don't recommend it), more need for ender pearls and a couple other things might be worth going for.
At some point you will run out of what Thaumcraft has to offer currently, however, at which point you'll want to set the world aside and wait for updates. Or start building something impressive.
I've found a handful of un-marked research, but I feel like I can't find any new research material anymore. I'm trying to find one with all my different stuff, but there's just nothing coming out of it.
I've found stuff like arcane levitation blocks, infernal furnaces, arcan bellow, warded door/blocks, 5 different kind of golems, boots of travellers etc etc.
I'm circling through all my stuff to find under-researched aspects, but to no avail.
Do the researched item matter or only aspects matters?
the aspects matter.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryHave you tried researching zombie brains yet?
I can't wait until the Aether updates with multiplayer. I want to do an LP. Also, I am getting my GF a minecraft key for christmas, so we can play that together.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenI think I found my problem.
My achievement system is all fucked up, everytime I start my single player world, my achievements are resetted.
Are the reasearches limited by achievements? Because right now, as far as the game is concerned I have no wand, no cauldron, no anything. My Thaumonomicon is unaffected tho.
No, achievements resetting is a known issue with Forge but it doesn't affect people's Thaumcraft research.
I'm having the same problem, Kin. I can't get any further than the golems, holes, arcane ears and the like. It's most irritating.
I guess we could go... wherever we please.I know right.
Although I just discovered what the hole does, and it's more interesting than I thought.
Also, I have just found some sort of temple with a purple node in the middle. Have I sound something cool?
Temple as in vanilla temple or temple as in "this is so very different from anything I've seen in vanilla" temple? Because if it's the first, it's a coincidence.
The purple node is probably a specific form of node mentioned in the thauminomicon.

Due to popular demand, Minecraft is getting a modded thread.
What belong here: any discussions on the subject of mods that change Minecraft so much that vanilla users can't understand what's going on.
Including but not limited to: Feed the Beast modpack, Thaumcraft 3, forestry, industricraft.
To get things going, anyone knows if it's worth going in the End in Thaumcraft? Enderpearls would be more available there, but other than that and the endstone, there's no ressources worth fighting the dragon over.
