I just love how the class acts at times. They were just informed about Korosensei's greatest weakness so far, but apparently panties have higher priority than that. At the end of the day, hitmen or not, they are still normal kids for now.

[up]x5 Was it confirmed somewhere that Koro was a former human? I thought they were brothers in the sense of him being the original cell source. His whole "destroy earth" threat doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless he has somewhere to go afterward.

I think so, yeah. He's been pretty tightlipped about the details but he said he was a former research project by the military and has alluded to some woman that is apparently the reason he agreed to teach middle school for a year instead of destroying the world immediately. I think there was a bit more to it than that but I've only been through the manga once.

I don't even think Koro-sensei is the original source. That's probably locked up somewhere in a secret, high-security government facility.

Chapter 88: Building an anti-sensei tank becomes Serious Business as Class-E once again uses teamwork and perversion to refine their latest assassination scheme. I'm glad Itona finally found where he belongs. I like him more now than when he had tentacles lodged in his brain.

So do those last few pages confirm that Nagisa truly has no idea how much of a terrifying "abomination" he really is? I'm having a hard time believing that what he did to Takaoka before he shocked him unconscious was NOT malicious intent...

Of course he doesn't think it's weird. To him, the chain of events is simple. "To win, I must break his spirit and terrify him so that he has no will to continue or ability to retaliate successfully. That sounds pretty easy to me, so I'll go ahead and do it." I'll probably be proven wrong shortly, but so far it's not that he's displayed terrifying bloodlust, but rather than he can do terrifying things without flinching or thinking anything of it.

Chapter 89: I'm kinda anxious to see how all of those nicknames are gonna turn out.

Is it weird that I like the filler chapters more than the serious ones? By this I mean, since it's a Matsui manga, I get reminded of how dark Neuro got towards the last arcs, specifically the Sicks arc and Sasazuka's death. I don't want this manga to end any soon.

Filler, as in the the single, arc-less chapters that focus on one student's assassination attempt? Not at all! Those "filler" chapters at the beginning of the manga were what got me hooked to the series in the first place. I'm guessing Chapter 89 is filler? Didn't read that spoiler.

Don't worry, I don't think this manga will end anytime soon. At this rate, I'll give it another two years until we finally reach the climax.

Speaking of Neuro, I tried reading it several years ago but never really got into it. Maybe I'll give it another shot one of these days.

That's exactly what I meant by filler. Those arc-less chapters where you get to see the talents and abilities of the students or why they are how they are (after all, Class E is full of pretty interesting people). About 89, I won't spoil it, but I seems like I already did, so I apologize for that. I promise be more careful in the future.

About A. Classroom ending soon, Matsui said something like this many months ago: "Regardless of the sales outcome, I won't change my mind. This story is meant to depict Class E last year of middle school, and nothing else. Please imagine how their graduation or the rest of their lives would be." It was from Matsui's facebook, and I found that quote in a forum long time ago. I promise to look for the exact quote. That's what makes me so scared, once they get too far into the assasination or they arrive to March, there's no going back, and the ending will be close.

Neuro is really good. The first time I read it was years ago, I didn't find it particularly interesting but very weird instead so I dropped it. A couple of yeras later I gave it another chance and it ended being one my favorites of all time. It won't dissapoint!

At first I didn't care about the kids at all; I was more interested in how Koro-sensei would thwart the assassination while improving the student's life. Now I want to know more about every single student in Class-E.

I don't know anything about Ch. 89, except that it's probably filler. [tup]

The manga won't end quickly just because its time frame is limited. The longest arc of the series only spanned about 2 hours in-universe, so it's definitely possible to write more big arcs to stretch the story. All good series have to come to an end eventually, though.

I'll check it out again sometime then! Have you read Matsui's other two one-shots? I really liked those.

Same here. I began only caring about how Korosensei would dodge everything and then started caring a lot about the characters (Eff Takaoka and Asano, both of the asano's) Althrough I got obsessed with shipping the students at the same time, but thats just me I guess. Dont hate me for that hahaha[lol].

Actually I've read of both them!. The mall one wasn't bad, althrough I didn't like it very much. Rikon Choutei was awesome, I loved it.

I'm generally apathetic towards shipping, but I'm interested in how Irina x Karasuma plays out. I'm also very curious about the lady that Koro-sensei made The Promise to. I wanted to guess that she was Class E's previous teacher, but the students referred to Yukimura-sensei as "he", so that's out of the question.

Unless that's a translation boo-boo...

I preferred Rikon Choutei over the Tokyo Department Store one-shot as well, probably due to that twist near the end. Speaking of Matsui, I just noticed that he doesn't have his own "Creator" page on this Wiki. Maybe I'll try my hand at starting one.

Oh well. It seems like I'm the only mad shipper around for now :P. I'm not particularly thrilled by Kara-Irina but I agree, it could be very important in the future.

It might be a translation thing, but I'm not sure. For now, gender unknown.

About the promise, I think that that woman may have just saved the world right there. The only reason the students and the rest of the world have any chance at all to kill Koro-sensei is because he is completely bound to that classroom for a year beacuse of that promise. Otherwise, the world's screwed.

I'd be awesome if you made a creator's page for Matsui :)

The raw doesn't use any gender specific pronouns, but I'd be extremely surprised if Yukimura-sensei turned out to be that woman. Koro-sensei was almost certainly created is some kind of experiment. There's no way a middle school teacher would be in a place like that. She might be a relative, or an alumnus of class E, but not the teacher.

Thanks for checking the raw. Unknown gender for Yukimura-sensei then. Maybe that woman isn't a teacher at all. She could've gotten there accompanying Koro-sensei, she probably knew him. She could be related to class E as an former alumni or a parent.

Before I forget, is it okay if I post the scrap puzzles somewhere else?.

Btw, chapter 91 just got released, chinese raws are available.

It's a bit of a stretch, but here's my reasoning:

  • The lady sort of matches Yukimura-sensei's silhouette. I initially assumed that Takaoka was the Hotel Arc's mastermind for the same reason, but eventually dismissed it because "he was crazy, but not that heinous".
  • Yukimura-sensei simply vanished from the school. I figured the school would at least announce his/her resignation or death, but if the cause of disappearance was due to a top-secret accident, then there's no reason for them to give it an explanation.
  • Both really cared about Class E: an assumption I made based on what little we've been told about both of them.

At the very least, the lady has to be somehow connected to Class E or the school, as you guys mentioned. I just associated her with Yukimura because he/she's the only character we've been "formally" introduced to that fits the description.

Meanwhile, Chapter 89 still isn't up in English. [lol]

The theory doesn't sound stretched at all. Class E has serious trust issues when it comes to teachers, and/or authority, so if Yukimura-sensei made such an impression on them on such a short time, he/she must have been a great teacher and close to them too. It seems likely that her demise wasn't communicated to the students, but I disagree on the reason. After all, the school runs on the principle that "If it class E, who cares" They wouldn't bother telling them at all.

The silhouette part could go both ways. It worked with you-know-who, but the same was said for the God of Death, who looked identhical to Asano Sr and that got debunked.

Oh yeah, about the mysterious lady, here's something interesting. "If you yell "She's not here anymore!" at Koro-sensei, his expression changes to a sad one and his skin changes to a correct answer face at the same time". I read that on a forum, it was from official info that got translated. I need to bookmark this stuff more often.

Most of chapter 89 and the last part of 90 are a complete bitch to translate. By that I mean, asides from the words, there's also some trivia and stuff to look up or else it wouldn't make sense so, it's understandable if the translators need some time work on both of them.

@Janunu. Yeah, I already gave permission for the SCRAP puzzles. Really, I'd prefer it. Nobody's managed to solve the second one yet.

I heard that thing about the sad-correct face too, but like you I don't remember the source.

I don't agree about Yukimura's silhouette matching that woman's. I think her hair was a longer, but it's hard to tell. Also, Yukimura couldn't have made that much of an impression if it took them until the end of August to think about him/her.

And as for the scanlators, they haven't done any releases for 11 days now. I'm guessing they're all really busy irl. This happened last year at around the same time too.

E: @Janunu: Also, you answered the quiz questions, correct? Could I ask you to post them (in loudly denoted spoiler tags, naturally) just to see if you got them correct? There should only be one correct answer to each, but I'd like to see if the questions are worded too ambiguously.

About the SCRAP puzzles, I'll post them around, I know a couple of places. I promise to give proper credit to you of course. Coincidentally, sometime ago I tried to translate one of them , but I failed miserably . So, thank you very much for translating them.

I meant that they remembered him/her rather fondly, in contrast to many of their past teachers. Well, since Koro-sensei came in, it would be easy to forget. Mangatopia, the series scanlantors came back today. It seems like they took a small break, so chapter 89 should be here in a couple of days.

I'll post the answers tomorrow. please don't laugh if they are all off okay ? grin

Anyway, you do have some wrong answers. Specifically questions 1, 4, 7, 9, and 16. Be sure to read the questions carefully. And just a little extra hint: For fill in the blank answers, answer with only what should go in the black spaces. Also, look over the information provided in the explanation carefully.

Btw, there's something from Nakamura's character profile I want to add to the page , but I don't know the trope for it. And a phrase I just can't work around.

Her profile says her hobby and/or special skill are jokes, and sexually harassing Nagisa. Yeah. Any trope for that? And the last 2 from her profile are nicknames she used to have. the one from the past, is elementary school genius. The current one, it says, Middle school "old-man" (Oyaji). I can't seem to word that last one well.
