It doesn't even support component cables/480p like the Game Cube and normal wii did.

On the plus side, it's incredibly energy efficient.

The Wii Mini... meh, it seems rather unnecessary. Isn't the regular Wii only $150 now?

Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.

Strike one: You could buy a used Wii for less than the price of the Wii Mini, very easily. Even with extras!

Strike two: No Internet connectivity, even with the USB Ethernet adapter.

Strike three: No component cable support. Seriously, anything below RGB or component looks like crap by comparison.

They're out. This is clearly meant to make the Wii U look more enticing by comparison, even at a three-and-a-half times higher price tag for the premium model.
