I'm not sure if anything in the image suggests that the character is an example or named Animal.

Besides, it has nothing to do with being named Animal, just that drummers tend to act like animals. By that count, the picture fits perfectly. He looks wild and animalistic.

Also he has a collar chaining him somewhere off-screen, that implies animal to me.

I like the current, but I wanna throw this◊ or this◊ out as an option, possibly captioned "Peter Kriss took this more literally than most."

I prefer the current. is not funny enough to justify the pun.
