Ok so the Big Bad wants some weapon MacGuffins from the heroes in exchange for not causing the extinction of the human race. The macguffins, by the way, previously belonged to the villain and the heroes merely stole them away.
The heroes having a plan to use the macguffins on him anyway agree to the "exchange".
So how should I write the fight so that the villain doesn't just focus on getting the macguffins first then proceeding pound the heroes, because I plan to run a BFS through the villain's chest in the course of the fight.*
Then have the villain absorb it's power making the fight progressively more difficult
