It depends on what you want to talk about. Discussion tabs on wiki pages are for discussing problems with the page itself, things which need adding, solving edit wars, checking if people think further action on a point is needed, etc.. To discuss the topic the page is about, you should use a forum thread instead (the appropriate media one for a work page, Wiki Talk for policy pages and so on; use common sense). This are sometimes done on the discussion page, but a thread is more appropriate. Is there a specific situation you'd like help with?
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Well, now that you asked, I helped start up a page titled Death Of The Family. This is a Batman storyline, and considering how popular Batman tends to be, I thought it would attract a lot of people in working on the page. Unfortunately, that has not happened.
There is a forum topic on this storyline, but it has failed to generate a lot of interest. Since a list of tropes hasn't even been set up yet, I'm frankly not sure what to do. All I know is that going to the discussion tab of the page couldn't possibly be the answer!
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!Thank you...but I'm running into a problem there.
It's like this: I try adding in a new YKTTW of Death Of The Family, but it doesn't get into the list at all. I must have tried 4 times already. Why does this have to be so hard? <Exasperated>
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee! Are you putting potholes in the laconic? Don't do that, it makes the system reject the draft.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerOh, yeah. It turned out I was, and I didn't even realize that it was potholing.
Thank you very much for your help. I finally got Death Of The Family onto YKTTW, so now it should get the help it needs!
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!
You must have noticed how just about every page comes with a discussion tab.
That leads me to ask this: when you start up a discussion, do you do it in the discussion section or in the forum? I'm willing to betcha there are pros and cons for both of them. That, and there must be some overlapping between the two.
