Ok, I am writing a script for a webcomic a friend and I are making. One of the characters is the result of a project by the US government to genetically forge a force of about 500 perfect soldiers. I need a rank for this character. He was in the Marines, before transferring to the SEA Ls. He would probably be an officer, as the soldiers were created to be intelligent. What is a good rank for him?

Low, as an active member of a SEAL Team; lieutenant or lieutenant JG. An officer of higher rank than lieutenant commander would be almost impossibly senior to integrate into a team in the field.

These aren't very big organizations.

^ Not to mention higher ranks have a higher probability of being desk jockeys than field commanders.

Lieutenant sounds good. Although since he was created to fight, I have trouble believing he would ever be Kicked Upstairs.

[up]Unless, of course, they want to use his experience to improve their military on a broader scale. Sometimes, even if you're designed for breaking things, breaking things isn't the best way for you to help your country.

Besides, if he's the 'perfect soldier' mentally as well as physically, you've got a genius tactician and strategist as well as a face-puncher extraordinaire. Be a bit of a shame to put him where that mind of his can't help anyone.

Well, he is about as old as many of his superiors, the Warbirds (name of the project) age slower than a normal human, so I guess that most would still be on the front lines, if they are crippled then they get a desk job.

It's possible that the character would be a Chief Warrant Officer - technically an officer, but one who spent their time climbing the enlisted ranks first, and since CWO's are usually considered the "technical experts" he could be called out into the field as often as he runs a desk.

That’s the epitome of privilege right there, not considering armed nazis a threat to your life. - Silasw
