Also, fanfics are usually free passion projects, so they do get more leeway than commercial products.

Oh, Saiga, heads up- Banner Saga 3 is happening. That's cool. I still haven't played the copy you gave me, because I'm an idiot who plays long-lasting video games concurrently (playing Yakuza Zero, Pillars of Eternity, Salt and Sanctuary, and Dark Souls 2, and a Gold-Platinum run of Bayonetta 2 together because I suck), but good to know the trilogy will reach an end.

Sell your steam account and make a new one that is the key to happiness.

I know how you feel. Even with the tripe I'm juggling, I still struggle to hold myself from buying For Honor and Nioh, hose games look tight.

Is it just me or for a game called For Honor, I'm seeing a lot of gameplay videos where players just knock their enemies off the ledges or using other very decidedly dishonorable tactics? [lol]

Saiga is right. If you visit the comments on Fanfiction.net you'll need to search pretty thoroughly to find any actual criticism. Even fairly dreadful fanfics get praised.

Speaking of fanfiction, I hate reference-loaded fanfics. It's as if people think that references are inherently funny.

Pop culture/fandom memes I would assume.

It's quite common and very jarring.

I've been on a Yakuza Zero mood lately, that game is incredible.

I was aware that grand Yakuza tradition has all the finales ending in shirtless brawls on top of a Tokyo skyscraper.

I thought to myself, what story wouldn't be improved with a final battle between two shirtless men, on top of a tokyo skyscraper? Help a brother out, I got nothing, everything is improved by having two shirtless men fight each other on top of buildings.

[up][up]Schindler List?

No wait, that would be awesome.

Citizen Kane?

Nope, that sounds amazing.

It's a wonderful life?

No, it would obviously be better. that way.

Shit, I got nothing.

There really does seem to be no movie where a shirtless fight on top of a building would not improve it.

Phew. And the week is over.

Jesus Christ, this week has been short but agonizing. I went to firing range for marksmanship test and holy shit, (almost) everything went wrong. At one point I've been surrounded by a sergeant first class, a first sergeant, and a fucking sergeant major and got yelled at my face.

Not a fun time.

A shame about your car, but I actually find walking to be pretty relaxing.

[up]It should also involve giant robots.

If it's any consolation Saiga, I sympathize. I am going through similar doctor bullshit right now. Fucking bureaucracy.

[up] Thanks, and best of luck with your bullshit (wow, weird phrasing)

I think it should be sorted now. It was an accident involving four vehicles, I didn't manage to get all the details of the guy who hit me from behind and pushed me into the accident so I found him on facebook, went to the police, and swung by his house to get his details. That took about a week, he then gave a different story to his insurance company blaming me for his involvement in the accident (in a way that made no sense - he claimed I came to a sudden stop so he couldn't avoid hitting me, even though legally you are at fault if you don't leave enough room/drive slow enough to account for the car in front coming to a sudden stop) so his insurance company refused to admit liability, my insurance company said that's bullshit and had me file a detailed incident report, a couple of days later the guy's insurance company rang and told me they still won't admit liability for him... but the driver ahead of me is admitting liability because the accident started due to her tire blowing out from neglect on her part.

Apparently my car is covered completely, but I'm still very unsure of why the guy who hit me from behind would not be found liable at all. Like, that's very clearly how liability is determined for that. Neglecting the roadworthiness of your tires might supercede that, I'm not sure.

[up][up] Well, the walking isn't so bad - I was already walking to work and back each day. It's just that groceries are a lot harder to do without a car, and I can't get anywhere on short notice

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting that not everyone lives right next to a grocery store. I see how that could be a pain.

[up][up] a new one opened up right beneath where I work a week before the accident. It's within walking distance which is a life saver.

But it means I just have to get things as I need them during the week instead of doing a big haul like I'm used to.
