Needs Help: Alternate History

That's what I'm seeing.

So far I'm leaning towards the sandboxed King Washington example from post 22. It looks badass.

I like the Assassin's Creed image as well.

I'm good with either King George or the split Japan/Nazi US map.

I like The Tyranny of King Washington.

One or two more votes for King George and we can run with it.

I like the sandbox, but I'd have kept the title. Foreign tropers can't be expected to recognize Washington on sight

The only thing I see in that picture is that it's not a name you'd normally associate with being a king. A tyrant, on the other hand, can easily be used as a slur. However, that's enough to me, and pretty much what the image illustrates. And I don't recognise him there. The flag, though...

I'll take the last two as ayes, so the new pic's up, potholed, and tagged. Now we just need to hash out the caption...maybe "I pledge allegiance to the throne \and to the service of King Washington..." or something along those lines?

I probably should've voiced up sooner, but I don't think Washington is obvious enough. It isn't easily recognizable as Washington at a single glance, to me.

I mean, I suppose it has a king with an American flag going for it, but...

How about: "I pledge allegiance to King Washington, and the United Kingdom of America..."

Works for me, and it clarifies for anyone who can't make out it's Washington.

I can live with that.

Might be late as well, but I think the uncropped version would be much better. The title clarifies what's going on, plus the proportions there just work better than the close crop.

I think they work about equally well, for different reasons. I don't have a strong opinion in either direction.

I prefer the not-crop, yeah.

I didn't realize that the sandbox had a cropped version. My support was for the full image.
