The name of a brand of electronic cigarettes... Even Phasma sounds good by comparison.

Point.evil grin

I like his title though. Reminds me of Best Korea and Iran.

Cheesy names are part of Star Wars, dating back to Jabba the Hutt. The PT doubled down on names like that, with Nute Gunray, Count Dooku, Archduke Poggle, Jar Jar Binks, etc.

Makes up with badass-sounding made up names like Vader, Maul, and Mace Windu.

Sure. And Snoke would be fine for some other guy. It doesn't sound good as the main bad guy however. But it's not like I won't get used to it. A great villain can make the silliest name sound ominous by association.

I'm curious as to how it will be pronounced. Will it be read like Spock or Spoke?

He'll probably be killed by Kylo Ren as part of his big "I'm the real villain of this trilogy! Tremble before me!" speech that he will probably have.

What I find interesting is that assuming Snoke is the Supreme Leader of the First Order, and I can't imagine what else he would be the Supreme Leader of, then that represents a break from the the traditionally human-centric Empire.

I'm not really for it or against it, but I do think it has interesting implications for what the First Order is and if it has any practical continuity of leadership between itself and the Empire of the OT.

[up]Maybe, but even if it does happen it might not be until the 3rd movie in. I have a feeling Snoke will have minimal screentime in the Force Awakens, just enough to establish him as the person pulling the strings behind the First Order.

Andy Serkis is the Big Bad? Was not expecting that. Who could Von Sydow be, then?

I have a hard time believing he's the actual Big Bad.

[up]I agree, this guy just screams Emperor Gestahl to me and there's barely any info on him.

This is going to sound really rude, but if they plan to keep the Big Bad character around for a while, Von Sydow may not be the best choice, considering he's coming up on 90...

Maybe he dies at the end and Kylo Ren takes over.

That's what I'm expecting. It would be a nice inversion of the OT.

Honestly, why the hell wouldn't Andy Serkis be the villain? Why the hell would it be Sydow?? I'm expecting Sydow to be either some General or an aged up character from the prequel era or OT era.
