For the people who can't decipher the weather service's graphics, can you provide a summary? And tell us just how bitching the waves were for surfing?
That’s the epitome of privilege right there, not considering armed nazis a threat to your life. - SilaswLet us know how you get on, PVT.
Haven't heard any warnings for Guam, so I'm guessing we're OK. Can't say the same for the rest of the FSM Micronesia islands though, a lot of them have little to no elevation or reefs.
Well, this blew over with just a few feet worth of waves, and as far as I know, all it ended up being was a great drill for when The Real Thing (TM) hits.
As a note, if you don't live in an inundation zone, stay off the roads. Lots of people got clogged in gridlock traffic in Honolulu and the Ewa area due to that.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold. This was all over the news. :o I still don't know how much damage it's done, but apparently I heard that the Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands), didn't have much damage. :o I dunno about that though. :/
ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅYeah, no news about any waves hitting the islands around my area or the Philippines either, so I guess everybody's A-OK.

As I live in Hawaii, any sort of earthquake activity along the Ring of Fire in the Pacific has a chance to be a threat to us here.
Such a threat has happened, and they issued a Tsumani Warning for the entire state of Hawaii.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center website is here:
http://ptwc.weather.gov/
Those who live in coastal regions of the Pacific should check that site and see if their area is under threat. Hopefully, it's nothing. If it IS something, I'll be fine, as I live higher up on the Island of Oahu (Wahiawa area), although our power generation and most of our first-world comforts will be at risk. Good think we're stocked up.
EDIT: Siren just started going off. I hate that sound.
