I actually quite like it. The bangs show which is the girl and which is the boy, and it's clear the color scheme is arbitrary and used to tell genders apart better.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I think it works because it's unclear who's who. That shows that it's primarily the colours that distinguises who's the girl and who's the guy.
Check out my fanfiction!I'm fine with the current.
I think it might be better to use the power rangers◊ (without the green ranger) because in full uniform they would be unisex but it's no surprise that without their helmets she's pink and he's blue.
The Pink Ranger has a skirt.
I like the current for the reason Another Duck mentioned.
Second of those is best, but I don't see it as an improvement on the current.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I dunno, it makes the genders more obvious. I mean, eyelashes, the bows on the ears, the skirt... more than just the two's bangs.
Agreed that second is best of the five suggested. (Also, I swear #5 is in use somewhere on the wiki.)

Moon◊If I may make a suggestion. Pinkie and The Blue Boy.

Stop caring and embrace nullness.I think I like 8.2 better than the current.
( and 8.5 is on The Renaissance Age Of Animation.)
please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.The trope is much younger than that, though, so I don't think it's a good image for the page.
Check out my fanfiction!I vote for either keeping current or 8.2
Yeah, given that pink was considered the go-to colour for boys' clothes until the 19th century (?), I think using 18th century paintings would be misleading.
Seems like it's either the current or #8.2 that will be chosen, though current seems to lean a little heavier. Are there more suggestions on the way, or crowner time?

Check out my fanfiction!I like the painting. I don't think 8.2 works because I believe this is supposed to be more about cloths and not the color of the character.
It's not necessarily about clothes at all. It's about differentating between the sexes using the two colors. Babs and Buster work, because pink bunny = girl and blue bunny = boy. That, combined with the Tertiary Sexual Characteristics (Babs' bows and eyelashes) illustrates the trope perfectly.
I also don't think that the girl's clothes in the painting are quite "pink" enough.

I like 8.2 as well.
Should we do a crowner between the current and 8.2?
Probably.
Check out my fanfiction! If the ratio holds steady or improves by tonight, I'll go ahead and call this one. Otherwise, it may have to run through the weekend.

One more bump for votes.
And we're done. The new pic's up, potholed, and tagged; add a caption if you'd like one. Locking up.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
The image on the page does show the colour scheme, but I'm having a problem about characters in said image. I'm not familiar with Ice Climbers, but they look gender neutral (aside from different bangs). The hold point of the trope is to show that a guy and a girl are wearing/representing blue and pink respectiveley. I know, it sounds crazy, but it was bothering me for a while.
But since this trope is very easy to trope, I know we won't have a problem.
I can't think of anything good for a signature.
