I've been busy on my own project and going to uni, hadn't had the time to keep up. Sorry for any errors.

Alright, here now after a particularly late running work shift. (Like, I pretty much just got home.) Gonna try to post soon.

@Gameknight: Jacob is in Sheila's car; Recon was in the firetruck. Even if Recon had gotten out of the firetruck and walked over to Sheila's car as soon as they stopped, he wouldn't have heard everything Jacob said. (In fact if Sheila's windows were down, he wouldn't have heard anything Jacob said. And I imagine they would be so that the noise of wind wouldn't ruin Sheila's recordings.) It's pretty much only Jacob's very last statement in quotation marks that Recon even could have heard.

EDIT: Alright, there's the post. No current response to Recon Because I'd like Tricksen to confirm if Sheila's car windows were down, then if so, Gameknight confirm that Recon still would have said that after only hearing the last part of Jacob's bit..

Yes, Sheila's car windows are closed. It would mess with the recordings if they weren't, as Firock said, and there's no reason not to, especially at night, what with all of the monsters running around and the cold.

Posts have already been made. Just pretend Recon didn't say anything to Jacob.

Also, how did Pyro grab Recon when Recon was already running?

@Gameknight: Already did.

Anyway, late posting is late; RPG night with friends turned out not happening this week, though it's definitely on for next week. Instead me and a couple friends who were on played Civ 5, which actually ate up a lot more time than the RPG night would have.

But, I'm finally here and about to start working on a post. But first, since I do have it, my schedule for next week:

Super early work shifts on Monday and Wednesday, then a normal shift on Thursday and the aforementioned RPG night on Friday. Due to the staggered early days, my schedule in general is going to be wildly fluctuated between Sunday and Wednesday. Also, probably going to be mowing the lawn on Monday, after work.

What smells worse, plague beast or burnt plague beast?

Hmm... I'd say non-burnt dead plague beast. Burnt dead plague beast would still smell absolutely awful, but it'd at least have the virtue of overriding some of the previous bad smell with just the smell of ashes, smoke, and burnt flesh. (And given this is, in the end, cows we're talking about, it'd smell like burnt barbeque along with some of the smell of disease and death still lingering.) I suppose it's somewhat subjective.

Anyway, I'm here now but I am about to head out for a little bit in not too long, so I won't be trying to post yet. Under normal circumstances I'd also be waiting to let more people post, but I'd understand if you guys would rather I just get things skipped forward again. (Since there's no longer any enemies around.)

I've had crazy amounts of writer's block today; nothing else really to it, but I'm sorry nonetheless. I might be able to get a post in before bed later, but not currently.

@Atomic: Goldilocks is outside of Israfel's range, (As was mentioned in my post.) so who is Israfel transmitting to?

Somewhat insubstantial post is insubstantial because I'm still suffering from some of that freakin' writer's block. Anyway, I can't be on late tonight due to the early work shift tomorrow, so I'll see about getting things moved along sometime after work then.

In the meantime, to list it out plainly, this is the stuff Goldilocks is definitely bringing from the camp:

  • The remington 870, 12 gauge. Pistol grip, (no stock) stock sights, no attachments. Holds 4(+1) rounds, total of 20 buckshot rounds scavenged.
  • A typical hunting double barrel shotgun, (not sawn off) 20 gauge. Solid wooden stock, stock sights, no attachments. Total of 11 buckshot rounds scavenged. (I shouldn't have to mention how many rounds it holds.)
  • A large hunting knife. (Goldilocks was mistaken about being a combat knife.) And by large I mean it has an 8.5 inch blade.
  • A campfire lighter.
  • The single money point. (Which Goldilocks is currently keeping for herself.)

Then there's the stuff that the group could take:

  • 1 tent.
    • 1 more tent that's been plague beast biled. (You know, like if you're desperate for another tent I guess.)
  • 1 sleeping bag.
    • 2 more sleeping bags which have also been plague beast biled.
  • A dutch oven cooking pot.
  • A stainless steel spatula.
  • A net hammock.

So I need some comments IC or OOC about what from these lists you guys/your characters would want. (Besides the like, three comments that have already been made.) Anything from the second list that doesn't gain any interest will be left behind.

Also, @Fantasy: Everyone besides Recon and Goldilocks are now outside of the area of the smell; that's what the hand wave in my previous post was about. Unless Red and/or Earl followed Recon for some reason.

Hey Firock, been thinking about those reinforcing spells you mentioned. Could you, say, apply those spells to bullets (the actual bullet, not the casing)? That would give it better penetration, right?

@Fantasy: Israfel also wants the knife, so he'll have to work that out with her.

@Gameknight: That depends on a lot of factors, and wouldn't really work well. The first problem is said spells aren't permanent; they'd last for like, an hour at best. Second is there really wouldn't be a way to apply it to just the bullet without applying it to the whole round; and unfortunately that could actually make the round fail to function because it would affect the necessary interaction between the pin in the round and the hammer in the gun.

And even if you got around those issues, it wouldn't necessarily improve the penetration of the bullet; all it would do is make the bullet less likely to break apart or deform when impacting the target. With bullets that are already meant for armor piercing, this would help them function better, yes; any kind of flat head bullet probably wouldn't see much of a difference; hollow point rounds would actually perform worse, since shattering upon impact is how they're supposed to work, and taking that away would ruin the point. (No pun intended.)

Actually, Israfel can have the knife, I have a better idea. If the spatulas not taken, Red will take that. For anyone wondering, Red wants to arm Sophia but is worried about giving her a gun because he fears without proper training, she'll hurt herself or others.

Is can part with the knife. She only needs it for cover up combat purposes.(Be nice and she'll bless weapons for all of you when she gets better!). She might want a ranged weapon instead.

Matt funnily enough might evaluate the plagued tent and sacks... to make makeshift camouflage cloaks. The ripe plague smell would surely fool lesser beasts.

the pot in a pinch can be made in a bomb casing. If we find fertilizer and nails that is. And the plague beast bile can be used to coat our weapons and poison em.

Here now; been on for a while but was catching up on some things. This slight writer's block is persistent, so unfortunately I don't think I'll be posting soon.

But, in the meantime I thought I should give you guys a heads up: I got asked to work a shift on Saturday, and since I didn't get many hours from my other shifts this week I went ahead and agreed. (It's around my normal time, though it is a particularly long shift.) So I've got that now in addition to the rest of the stuff going on this week.

Alright, here's the post, skipping things along a bit. Also hand waving the items from the second list that interest was mentioned for. For those of you who haven't had a chance to pitch in yet, we can hand wave the items being grabbed retroactively; it's not entirely a game changer either way, except for the biled items.

Which speaking of, Goldilocks would try to talk Matt out of that idea I realize, since there's unfortunately a good chunk of monsters in the bestiary that would do nothing to, and against everything else it would only make a difference if they wounded it and then left it alive. It wouldn't be like an RPG poison where it immediately takes effect, or even as quickly as some real poisons. Depending on the opponent and where they hit it and with how much of a dosage, they wouldn't really be sick for at least a couple hours, possibly up to a day or two before it really kicked in. (Yes, even against Humans.)

Is the plague beast bile an ingredient for anything important? Like spells? Or some other, stronger poison?

Also, back to the bullet thing, why is it that you can only reinforce the entire casing and not just the bullet?

@Gameknight: The bile can be used for some spells, but if Goldilocks had thought any of said spells to be particularly useful, she would have brought some of the bile herself. (Besides what is drying on her.)

And the reinforcing spell couldn't be applied to just the bullet because the ritual circle for that spell would need to be at least two or three feet across. (And there's no way such a spell is being cast without a circle.) Then the only way to apply it to the bullet is to put it down in the center of the circle, which as I said would include the whole round, not just the bullet.

And you can't just apply it before making the round, because again, such a spell wouldn't last forever. To do what you want to do, you'd have to enchant the bullets at a reloading bench, then construct the round, (And hope that having an abnormally hard bullet doesn't cause your reloading machine to jam in some fashion.) then get into a fight with it within an hour. The benefit of doing this isn't really worth the hassle, which is why I said this wouldn't work well.

Anyway, I'm here now after work, though I am currently waiting on more posts.

Okay, sorry about the lull in activity; RPG night with friends and other distractions ended up taking more of my night yesterday than I expected. (Though I was also still kinda waiting on more posts.) I'm here now because it turns out I didn't have to work today after all; been on for a good while now, just been catching up on other things.

I'm definitely gonna try to post tonight; don't know if it's gonna be soon or way later since I've got a bit of writer's block again. In the meantime, figured I should stop in and let you guys know my schedule for the upcoming week:

Getting a good, high amount of hours and thankfully only normal shifts at that! I've got work on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I'm also scheduled for Friday, but they scheduled me at a time I've specifically told them I can't work on Fridays, so I need to talk it out with them and figure out if they're going to cut the hour I can't work off of that shift or give the shift to someone else entirely. Then of course I also have the weekly RPG night with friends on Friday.
