Recon's American. He just wasn't in America for most of the apocalypse. He can understand French. Doesn't speak it.

Oh that's right. Sorry - thought he was African for a bit.

Even if Pyro was in the same caravan that doesn't necessarily mean she ever interacted with him or liked him. In fact she probably didn't.

Also, after some deliberation, here's Lisa's current vote on the NPCs:

  • Coline: 0
  • Arthur: +1
  • Garnet: +1
  • Officer Clark: 0
  • Counter: 0
  • Flyer: 0

She thinks that Garnet is probably the most useful, and the fact that Arthur is a half-runner can be used to the party's advantage. She doesn't care about the rest.

Just for the sake of convenience, Red's is going to be

  • Coline: 0
  • Flyer: +1
  • Garnett: +1
  • Arthur: +1
  • Counter: 0
  • Clark: 0

While Earl's is pretty much neutral on all of them (he doesn't really know anyone there), although he's +1 for both Clark and Counter so he can get some more guns in the party to feel safer. Not to mention, he's already interacted with Clark and is on somewhat friendly terms.

If Earl wanted more guns to feel safer, I would think he'd also want Coline coming, since she has the biggest gun. tongue

But anyway, that would bring it to:

  • Coline: 0
  • Arthur: +2
  • Garnet: +2
  • Officer Clark: +1
  • Counter: +1
  • Flyer: +1

So, sounds like Molly's vote is:

  • Coline: +1
  • Arthur: -1
  • Garnet: +1
  • Officer Clark: +1
  • Counter: 0
  • Flyer: 0

Which brings the current total to:

  • Coline: +1
  • Arthur: +1
  • Garnet: +3
  • Officer Clark: +2
  • Counter: +1
  • Flyer: +1

At this rate you guys may just end up bringing all of them. tongue (Which, if you do tow something behind the firetruck, there's pretty much no reason not to; as I said before, you'd have tons of room that way.)

@Fantasy: I'm a little disappointed that you haven't caught any of the hints that I've been dropping... That's about to come back to bite you guys. (Though not with anything that isn't immediately fixable, come to think of it.)

What, is Lisa going to replace Red's arm with a gun? Or were you referring to something else?

I feel like Molly wants to question Pyro's inclusion.

If you want to know what Max's votes are. (I'm writing up a post now)
Everyone but Flyer: +1
Red: +1 (I know he's a PC, but what with the other NPCs statements, he's voting for Red anyway [lol])
Flyer: -1

Also what are we going to do for ammo, now that we no longer have the magical giant room of everything? Are we just gonna take along like, X ammo points or something to start with, and each ammo point is one magazine/speedloader/whatever?

@Fantasy: I'm referring to the fact that there was two Arthurs in my last post.

[Arthur] said sternly over his shoulder, then left and headed the opposite direction that Red headed.

Back behind the guard, Red could see Garnet working on the firetruck just outside the auto shop; standing just a bit behind her and slowly approaching her was Arthur.

And before that was Arthur apparently forgetting that you guys have a firetruck, even though Red told him so over the radio.

... The radio which he said he lost when the demons attacked him. evil grin

@Ammo: I'm still thinking about that, but there is one choice option I was gonna throw your way. The firetruck has the big empty water tank, which one of you suggested filling with gas, which is one idea. Another would be to re-purpose it into storage to hold things, such as ammo.

Oh yeah, with Max's vote, that brings us to:

  • Coline: +2
  • Arthur: +2
  • Garnet: +4
  • Officer Clark: +3
  • Counter: +2
  • Flyer: 0
    • (Red): +1

Also, except for Molly, those in the bookstore shouldn't have heard Garnet scream. (It isn't that close by. If it was, Lisa might have detected the incubus) Sorry, perhaps I should have specified that.

Oh - just to clarify Firock - Red's "throw" in my previous post is more him seeing if he can grab anything to quickly toss it at the incubus' face while running. He's not going to stop and aim carefully. Sorry if that was unclear.

I was waiting to see if Troy and Gameknight would catch my discussion post and edit their main ones; so I let myself get distracted for a while. For now I'll just have to ignore the parts about Pyro and Recon reacting to the scream.

(Good on Tricksen for going ahead and doing that himself.)

EDIT: Although, it is Flyer's leg that's injured, not his arm.

This is from the page before but is Flyer's PTSD triggered by werewolves after he saw Joe kill Sarah?

Not quite. Seeing Sarah dead triggered his PTSD; it's not the cause of it. EDIT: Come to think of it, he nearly just about blurted out what his PTSD was caused by in one of the conversations you guys had with him.

Anyway, my apologies guys, I'm feeling some writer's block today, and to be honest I'm not quite sure why. I'm gonna try to get a post in before I go to bed at least, but given when that will be that means the post could still be several hours away now.

Was that when I think Max said he was a kid, and then Flyer went of the handle with that speech about how he was just a kid when the apocalypse hit and it's tough out there for kids and stuff like that?

Not that I remember how werewolves exactly figured into that (killed his parents?) I just wanted to solve the puzzle of which post you're talking about.

Werewolves don't factor into it. But you're close. Really close.

... Eh, in fact, close enough for me to say here, have the answer: (In spoilers, in case any of you still want to figure it out on your own.)

Flyer's parents are dead; they died during the dark month, leaving him alone. Worse than that, he watched his mother get mutilated to death literally right in front of him. Now whenever he sees a woman getting bloodied up or torn up, it flashbacks him back to the event and he starts to break down. (Like when Molly was all bloody, that's why he was staring at her like he'd seen a ghost.) The psychological impact is also what's making him do the whole fake Australian accent thing; that's why the accent also goes away whenever he starts to remember the incident, hence the few times in the RP he's switched back to his normal American accent almost perfectly coinciding with the few times he started breaking down.

I'd also like to mention I came up with that pretty much entirely on the fly, like right before the first post that had Flyer talk in it. tongue

I knew it was a good idea for Recon to vote for the train.

Recon actually couldn't care less. I made him vote for the train because it'd be a bigger space. Allowing for more freedom of our characters and more 1-to-1 conversations. A lot more development and role-playing than the smaller truck. Now to cross my fingers and hope the truck stays with slashed tires.

Same way I think Flyer's probably gonna find some way to tag along: the potential between him and Garnet's relationship is just too good to pass up.

Of course, I could just be overthinking this.

As it stands, you guys have easy ways to fix the tire; you could patch it up or just replace it. This event wasn't really meant to slow you down or present a real challenge; it's just to clue you in that Mephisto knew you could pursue him and tried to prevent you from doing so. That said, I personally as GM was hoping you guys would take the train, (I had some scene ideas that would only really work with the train, or work a lot better with the train.) but if the majority want to just take the truck, I will not force you guys to take the train. (Now if some of you want to use this event as an opportunity to change your characters' minds, feel free.)

Also, I still need confirmation on Recon's, Pyro's, and Shay's opinions on what NPCs to bring.

As for me here, I'm not sure when I'll post, but hopefully soon. I pretty much know what I want to post, I just want to check on some things before I set to doing that and have a liiitle bit of writer's block anyway. But as long as I'm typing this post, this is probably a good time to bring up my schedule for this week:

Work is an almost exact repeat of last week, again just Friday and Saturday, with slightly different hours. RPG nights with friends might finally be back on for Tuesday (so tonight) and Thursday; Friday is still off for sure as far as I know. It's not guaranteed though, and I really can't say for sure now whether or not it'll be on.
