According to this synopsis, the episode "The Fault In Our Cutie Marks" is going to explore whether species other than ponies can have cutie marks, specifically griffons, and possibly if they even need them in the first place. This reminds me of Gummy's Internal Monologue from "Slice Of Life" where he thinks "And what of the poor gator? Flank forever blank, destined to an existential swim down the river of life to... an unknowable destiny?"

That.... is going to be interesting.....
Nice to see some more world building.
This song needs more love.Title reference to The Fault In Our Stars?
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...I would assume so.

This reminds me of when Rainbow Dash surprised Spike in "Griffon the Brush-Off" and gave him the hiccups, causing him to accidentally send a bunch of letters to Celestia that landed on her head, only even more exaggerated!
Ha! The show doesn't have enough funny Celestia moments.
This song needs more love.My first thought:
My second thought: If Spike was sending scrolls one at a time how the heck did Celestia get buried? Did she fall asleep in her throne room and not notice the scrolls until she woke up?
Reaction Image Repository"The Fault in Our Cutie Marks" has already aired in Poland, as a heads up. It isn't in English, of course, but there's already a fansubbed version.
Also, the novelization of The Legend of Everfree is out, so story spoilers are out there.
I saw the clip for the latest episode, and my first tought on seening the griffon was: "Oh nooo she's cuuute."
"I feel like I'm on a raft and surrounding me is an ocean of dumb."- Mr. SarkI'll put money on that "unlikely group" includes Thorax.

I'm willing to bet Trixie and Discord will also be a part of it as well.
This song needs more love. This sounds like it could be quite interesting. Lots of theorizing to do about exactly who all these parties are.
Reaction Image RepositoryMy first thought was "MLP Suicide Squad".
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Some different guesses I have for who is going to be in this "unlikely group of heroes":
- Other reformed villains/antagonists, such as Trixie (already friends with Starlight), Discord, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, Gilda, and Thorax.
- Characters who the Mane 6 have helped in their map missions, such as Coco Pommel, one or more of the Hooffields and/or McColts, the ponies from the Tasty Treat, and possibly others who might appear in map missions later this season (this could also include Gilda).
- Fan-favorite background ponies, specifically including DJ-Pon3 and Derpy, as a nod to Twilight trying to get Starlight to be friends with them in "No Second Prances".
- Sunburst probably will be involved in this somehow.

My personal guess would be either a group of reformed antagonists (Discord, Starlight, Trixie, Gilda, etc.) or else the "key characters" from season 4 (Cheese Sandwich, Silver Shill, Seabreeze, etc. and led by Starlight rather than Discord).
Reaction Image RepositoryWith this most recent episode, I'm wondering if they're going to use Ember, Thorax, and Gabby who are all unique amongst their respective races.
This song needs more love. That's possible, but I find it unlikely for one main reason: Starlight Glimmer is leading the charge, and she's never interacted with any of those characters. With the other groups, it makes a bit more practical and thematic sense as either A. Starlight understands where the reformed jerks are coming from, since she's been in the same boat or B. She's learned enough about friendship that she knows the ponies who have been helped by the mane 6 and have learned from them would be likely to help harness that power.
Reaction Image Repository@Lopiny: Frankly sounds like the Mane 6 are getting worfed. Ah well, whatever, they'll probably make it make sense, and we're probably overdue for Starlight spotlight anyway, not to mention other characters getting the chance to shine.
Kind of like the end of "The Cutie Map" writ large- our heroes have guided so many others, and now it's time for the favor to be returned. Thus once again underlining how friendship is the greatest power of all.
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty.Calling it now: this "oldest and greatest foe" will be another Gen I villain. My money's on Grogar.
Celestia, Luna, and Cadance get worfed all the time. It's standard procedure.
